Chapter 2

Ana

~*~

Lights flash from every direction. The music booms through the whole entire place, shaking the floor beneath us. The lights change colours, highlighting more and more people. The club is completely crowded. The music and chatter is so loud that I struggle to hear my own thoughts. Abbie confidently struts into the bodies of people swaying on the dance floor. The place is mostly full of what looks like students.

We push our way through the sweaty strangers. Tiff and Taylor walk close behind me wearing enormous smiles. Abbie leads us to the bar. She shoves her way to the front and puts out her hand, waiting to be served. The bartender quickly comes over to serve us. Abbie flicks her flaming red hair back and flutters her eyelids. I roll my eyes and shake my head.

"Hi Henry." She leans her elbows on the side and looks up at him through her long lashes.

"Hi Abbie, what can I get you tonight?" He has a cheeky smile layered on his face as he undresses her with his beady eyes.

"Four shots please." Abbie smiles. Taylor and Tiff both giggle next to me, shaking their heads.

"On the house." Henry grins.

"She can get anything for free." Taylor nudges me in the arm and I laugh.

I look around at the club whilst Abbie gets our drinks. The whole place is buzzing with people. Guys are silently scoping out their targets for the night and girls are dancing around, swaying their hips to the music. The strobe-lights highlight the short outfits most of the girls wear and the smart shirts and trousers the guys have on.

"Here we go," Abbie hands us all a shot.

"To Ana!" They all smile at me. The liquid in the small glass container is fiery red as we all swig it back, the burning sensation is not lost on me.

We put the glasses back on the side of the bar and laugh. The more we have to drink, the more fun the night becomes.

"Let's dance! I wanna dance!" Taylor grabs my hand and tries to pull me to the dance floor.

"Taylor." I moan and look back at Abbie. She nods her head enthusiastically and follows us to the dance floor. Tiff scurries after us as we push through the crowds of people. The music changes to one of my favourite songs as Abbie and Taylor start to sway to the music.

Tiff holds both hands up in the air as she dances drunkenly. I laugh at my friends as my mind whirls a hundred miles an hour. Abbie grabs my hands and I begin to dance. I feel totally free moving my hips to the music. I use some of my best moves as Abbie joins in dancing next to me laughing. I giggle as Taylor joins in also with her funny dance moves. She starts to do the robot and gets a few stares from the people surrounding us. I burst out laughing and hold my hands to my ribs. I don't think I've ever laughed this much.

The music speeds up as a few guys come over to try and dance with Abbie, but she brushes them off. She smirks at us and grabs my hand. My eyes widen as she drags me through the crowd. We barge our way through as we climb up onto the stage to join the other professional dancers, not that we're allowed to but at this point I think we're too tipsy to care.

Smoke starts to fill the club as the music buzzes through my head. A few guys watch us from the other side of the room. They sit at a table in the middle. I can't see them very well from the lights and smoke but they are defiantly watching us. Taylor and Tiff run over handing us another drink. We quickly wash it back and begin to dance even more enthusiastically to the music.

Taylor spins Tiff around, causing her to giggle more. Sweat begins to form around my hairline, so I drag Abbie and the girls back off the dance floor. I'm pretty tired after that.

I open my bag and take a look at my phone. The screen bleeps 2:30 in the morning. We have been out for ages. I look up to find Abbie and the others have disappeared. I get a text a minute later.

Gone 2 loo sweetie, back in a sec. Stay @ the bar. A x

I smile and take a seat at the bar waiting for my friends.

"Nice dancing." A deep voice comes from my left. I spin my head around trying to see the stranger, but as soon as I twirl my body around I knew it was probably a bad idea as I've had too much to drink. My vision starts to go blurry as I fall straight off the stool.

"Whoa. You okay?" Arms catch me as I steady myself. I look up and see the most intense brown eyes gazing at me. I shake my head and close my own eyes. I must of had more to drink than I thought. There is no way someone can be that good looking from a first glance.

I open my eyes again to see an amused expression on the guy's face before me. The guy wears a smooth black shirt with some khakis and I can't help but notice the muscular arms that continue to steady me.

"Wow." I sigh in awe. I quickly realise I said that out loud and cover my mouth in embarrassment. A small smile curves up at the corners of the stranger's lips.

"You okay?" He asks, probably half afraid I'll fall over again. I can only just hear him over the music. My head is spinning.

"Yes, I'm fine." I shout to be heard, getting control over myself and trying to stand. Once I find my feet I look up at him.

"Can I get you some water?" He raises an eyebrow.

"No, thank you." I narrow my eyes at him and his smile widens.

I raise my head a little trying to act in control but in doing so I only look like I'm checking him out when I'm not. I'm not going down that road again.

"Ana! There you are!" Abbie grabs my arm, "Who's your friend?" The smile on her face widens when she gets a good look at the stranger before us.

"I don't know." I say and shrug.

"Well-"

"Come on, let's get out of here!" I shout and drag Abbie out of the club, the stranger almost smiling at my quick escape. I guess he's not used to girls bailing on him.
