Tobias
Lathan and I decided we'd stay with my parents while we were in Germany. Honestly I was relieved that everyone was so cool with me now. I was scared shitless that they'd just shove me away again but they didn't. For the first time in years Marco hugged me hell, he apologized to me.

I couldn't have been happier in that moment.

"I'll show you around Lathan." Mom said and he smiled, accepting the offer. I smiled at them walking away before turning to my dad and Marco. "So tell me, how've you been since you left?" Dad asked as we sat down.

"Pretty good, New York isn't so bad. I got used to things pretty quick and ate everyday so I survived." I answered. "That's good...what're you doing now?" He asked next. "Well recently I got a job as a clinical psychologist and I got my first pay check a little over a week ago." I replied.

"No way, I'm doing that too." Marco chimed and I smiled at him. "Who would've guessed we'd be into the same thing." He said and I smiled wider. "I wouldn't have, that's for sure." I responded making him snicker. "Have you seen your sister yet?" Dad asked making me realise that I hadn't seen her.

I shook my head and stood. "I'll go look for her." I said before going to find her. The first place I thought she'd be was her room but when I checked she wasn't in there. I looked in every other place I possibly could before going into my own room which, surprisingly, she was in.

"Shane." I said lowly, watching her as she looked around my room. "I haven't been in here since you left." Was all she said as she looked at me. I didn't know what to say, it was as if I'd done something wrong, like she'd found out I cheated on her or something.

"Mom and dad would come in here and cry sometimes. Marco would sleep in here and make sure it was clean after you left. Our cousins would come and play in here, grandma and grandpa would sleep in here when they came over. But me, I never set foot in here." She continued.

"I thought about it some days, but only so I could come in here and mess it up. I hated you even more when you left, when your friend took you from me...and you agreed to go." She finished. I had to admit I was confused as hell. What did she mean by that? I didn't think anyone would miss me, maybe mom and dad but Marco and her not really.

They seemed to hate me the most and the only memories we have together are mostly of them torturing me.

"You know Tobias...I'll never understand it, this being gay thing and I'm sure I won't accept it anytime soon but...I guess I'm glad to see you back." She said simply before walking out, leaving me in shock.

That was kinda heavy. Hell, it was very fucking heavy.

I sighed before going back to the living room. Lathan was with my dad and brother talking so I decided to go and talk to my mom. She was in the kitchen looking for some pots.

"Hey ma." I said, getting her attention. "Oh, Toby, I'm getting ready to cook. Wanna help?" She asked. "Sure." I smiled, waking further into the kitchen. "So, you and Lathan planning on getting married?" She asked which made me blush.

I completely forgot that could happen.

"We haven't exclusively spoken about it but he does hint at it and I wouldn't mind it." I answered. "You better marry that man Toby, you won't find anyone who'll look at you the way he does." She said and I smiled.

He looks at me a certain way?

"I will, don't worry." I responded, thinking about it. It was strange to think of, just six years ago I ran from home, five years after that I met Lathan and now we have this relationship that's so strong.

Just some years ago I thought I'd never be more than a depressed guy who had to work two jobs to survive. Now look at me, I've made amends with my family and I'm probably going to get married to the love of my life.

Life really is a strange journey.
