I've had the ring for about 4 weeks. Sophia has been really stressed about this Jimmy situation so that would have been a horrible time.
Here's my plan: Sophia has always wanted a husky. I bought her one, I just have to go pick it up sometime. It's a little male puppy.I am going to put the ring on the puppy's collar. She's going to be over at my place and the dog will wander out of my room. I'll let Sophia see it before I do, and then as she runs up to the puppy like I know she will, I will be about a foot behind her on one knee. She will let the puppy and turn to me confused.
I will tell her to look at the collar. There is going to be a ring tied to it, that she will then notice.
And you all know the rest.
It will be great. She will be so happy. That's just the way I want her.

Tonight is going to be the time.
Let me call her real quick. She wanted to go for a run.
"Hello?" She answers.
"Hey honey I was thinking I could make some dinner?" I suggest.
"That sounds nice." She says.
"Okay so I could start cooking as you make your way back and it'll be done by the time you get out of the shower I'd that's okay." I say.
"Sounds good. I'm gonna make my way back now. I love you." She replies.
"I love you too. Bye." I say.
"Bye." She responds.
Then she hangs up.
What could I make for dinner? Oh, I know. Alfredo pasta and garlic bread is her favorite. We always have the stuff for that.
I gather everything I need and start boiling the water. I get a pan and start cooking the sauce.
She likes long runs, so I'm guessing when I called she was about 20 minutes away. I mean obviously I know I am going to have enough time, since she has to shower as well.
I live about 5 minutes from where I have to go pick up the puppy. I should go pick the puppy up and put it in my closet. I would put it in my room but Sophia will go in there to get dressed after she showers, and I don't want her to find the puppy like that. I do have a large storage closet Sophia has never opened, that has enough room to contain the puppy.
The puppy won't even be in there very long either. Only while we eat. After she finishes eating I will tell her to grab me something from the closet and she'll open it and see the puppy sitting there staring at her. I'll ask her to go in there for paper towels or something. It doesn't even matter.
I leave to pick up the puppy.
After I return I hear the water turn off. She is gonna be out here soon.
I whisper to the puppy as I hold it still.
"Shh its okay stay still." I say.
I put the ring on a string and tie it to the collar.
"Good boy." I say and pet his head.
"I almost forgot." I whisper.
I then hook the name tag to the collar.
Sparky.
"Okay, boy now go to the closet." I say to the puppy, Sparky.
Sparky gets into the closet, and once I close the door and go fix the plates, Sophia walks in.
"Hey." She says.
"Hey, feel better?" I ask.
She nods. "Cold showers always help." She says then pecks my cheek.
"Well, winner's ready." I tell her.
"I see. Thank you, Grayson." She says.
"You're welcome." I reply.
She sits and we pray, then eat.
"This is really good, babe." She says after a while.
"Thank you." I reply.
"You're welcome." She says.
"Can I get you something to drink?" I ask.
"No, I got it. Thank you though." She replies as she gets up and grabs a water.
She sits back down and I cough, hearing sparky make a noise in the closet. I hope she didn't hear that.
I smile. "You look beautiful." I tell her.
"Thanks." She replies.
"You're welcome. Finished?" I ask.
She nods. I smile, and get up grabbing my plate. I take her plate too.
As I put them in the sink, I turn my head and speak over my shoulder.
"Hey, we are running low on napkins, can you go grab some from the closet?" I ask.
"Sure, babe." She replies and gets up.
Still looking over my shoulder, I turn around once she reaches the door.
As she opens it I walk up behind her.
She opens the door and Sparky runs into her.
She falls on her butt onto the carpet, and laughs. As she pets the puppy she looks at his collar.
"Sparky." She says. That is when she notices the ring.
"Oh." She says.
"Sophia.. I love you. Your happiness is the most important thing to me. I hope this makes you happy but... Will you marry me?" I ask.
"Yes!!" She exclaims running to me, hugging me.
I laugh. "We did good, Sparky." I say to the puppy that got excited and just peed on the floor.

We did good.
