Chapter Three: What's behind the metal walls

"Once more, Miku," ordered Miss. Akita.

"Fine..." I huffed.

Miss. Akita held her clipboard close to her as she watched me go through the obstacle again. She was testing how strong I was and what my endurance was, so that one day she might be able to use me like the other Vocaloids.

I was running my last stretch of the course, then I tripped over my own feet like usually. Landing on my face. I heard Miss. Akita and the other scientist say something and muttering about my fail to complete the course.

"Miku, you're done for the day."

I just sat there, and looked at the ground. My hands and knees were bleeding with

small stones in the cuts. "It...hurts...." I whispered, but nobody heard me. I was alone, again. Getting up from the dirt floor, I walked to the room where I would change in my Vocaloid outfit.

After I changed, I was greeted by Miss. Akita. She lead me down some hallways to a huge space. There were walls all around it in a circle, some of the walls were glass, others were metal. The roof was open near the middle and the ground was covered in grass and sidewalk paths. The only thing you could see in the "park" was a few benches spread out all over.

"This is were you will be socializing with the others," said Miss. Akita as she left me. The huge metal doors that welcomed us to the room had just close taking Miss. Akita out of my sights.

I looked around me, there was no one like before. I started to walk down a path and found one of the benches and sat there. Looking up into the sky, I was wondering how Mikuo was doing at work. He would return late again, since his work was just in the other town over. I hoped he would get a job closer soon, but who knows?

"There she is!"

I looked around me to see who said that, I didn't anyone. "Hello?" i called out.

A small girl with a red backpack came from behind the bench where i was sitting. "Hi," she said.

"Oh hi." I greeted her.

She looked at me for what seemed like a long time. "Your the new one aren't you ?"

"Um yes, why do you ask?"

"Cuz I never seen you before." she smiled at me. then she turned her head to face a door that was open on one of the walls. "She's ok, everyone!" she yelled, and smiled at me again.

After she said that people came out of the opened door. Some of the people I've only seen in magazines, others I just read about. A girl with long pink hair came up to me. Her blue eyes sparkled as she walked. Luka.

I stood up. "Oh hi there, Luk-" i stopped myself. I my not with my friends anymore I can't call her by her first name. I bowed at her, " Sorry, i mean hello Ms. Megurine."

"Hello," she said, not offended by me almost calling her by her first name. "You can call me Luka, if you want."

"Thank you, Luka-sama."

"What's your name?" she asked.

"Oh I'm Hatsune Miku, but please call me Miku for short."

"It's nice to meet you Miku-chan. It feels nice to meet some new and different for once." Luka said. After she was finished she walked away to the man with really long purple hair tied back in a pony tail. Kamui Gakupo. I stood there watching as they acted all lovey-dovey with each other. Weird, I didn't think Vocaloids could even be like that since I always thought they were super smart, talented, and powerful beings. The public thought wrong like I did.

"Hi, Im Kaai Yuki!" said the small girl who greeted me before. "Call me Yuki! Oh and I can call you big sis Miku!" she said as she hold onto my hand.

I smiled at her, she's to cute. "Ok, Yuki." I said. She reminded me of Kiki and Yuki, well not that she had the same name as one but she was all cute and smiley about things.

Then a boy with goldish/yellow hair came up to her. "Yuki! You can't just run up to people like that."

"I can if I want," she yelled sounding like a little demon. Ok, maybe I was wrong she doesn't remind me of Kiki and Yuki. She has a darker side than them. On the other hand who is this boy, and why does she dislike him, or at least what I think.

"Me and Sis Miku are going to play together. I dont want to play with you anymore Nero. You play mean!" she stuck out her tongue.

"I do not! Also you don't have a choice, cuz Mew wants to see you NOW!" Nero said as he grabbed her, carrying her away.

I watched them leave. Then I sat back down on the bench, and watched as everyone else do what they think is normal.

I heard talking to the right of me and turned to face, there was two boys talking. One had white hair with red eyes, the other hand blond hair and blue eyes, both had there hair in messy pigtails. They both saw me and stopped in their tracks, and stared at me. I thought I had something one my shirt, I looked down and saw nothing. Why? Why are they looking at me funny? Then they both walked up to me.

"Hello, there sorry for starring it's just.... we haven't seen you before." blushed the blond.

"Er yeah... we never saw you before." blushed the white haired boy.

"Oh yeah I'm new." I stood up, "I'm Hatsune Miku, but please call me Miku."

"Hi Miku-chan, Im Kagamine Len, and this is Honne Dell."

"Call me Dell."

"Nice to meet both of you."

"Hey Len we should go, Rin is looking at us. Bye Miku-chan it was nice to meet you."

Both boys ran towards a girl that looked like Len.

They both were acting weird, by giving each other looks and having there faces red. They weren't acting like that before. Before they were best friends and perfectly fine. Weird, maybe I did something? I figure it out later.

"Miku!"

I saw Miss. Akita waling to come get me. "Time for testing again."

I hate this testing. "Fine," I said as I followed her down the path. As I walked everyone watched me. All were quiet and still, the Vocaloids were treating me differently than what they treat each other. Why? I was like them right? I want to ask them, why are you staring but didn't dare, just in case. Maybe when I see them next I can ask. Maybe? Just maybe?
