Chapter thirty eight:

Len got better over the next few days. He was released back to his dorm, but he couldn't move. I had visited as often as I could, Dell can a few times. My brother Nero, wasnt getting that much better. He was still in the infirmary, Neru and Mom had worried every second over him. I made things easier by having Neru stay with me. Ive been watching over her like a big sister, but I know shes the bigger sis.

"Neru, want anything to eat?" I asked looking in the fridge. Haku and Dell left for training, Mom has been keeping herself busy training the other Vocaloids. I guess it was her way of coping.

"No, Im fine." Lair, I thought.

"Im making bacon and eggs." I said while getting out the supplies.

"Your making breakfast in the afternoon?"

"Ya, Mikuo and I did this all the time. Its fun." I smiled, while turning on the stove. Frying the meat, and cracking eggs.

"Did you always cook?" Neru asked, sneaking into the kitchen. I turned to face her, I shyly grinned.

"Um actually Mikuo cooked mostly, her taught me a little. Haku just started to teach me how to cook too."

"That's cool, Mom never taught me how to cook." Neru looked at her hands.

"Come here, I can teach you a little."

"What you don't want to!"

"Yea I do. Its a good sister bonding thing, come on." I motioned her to come near the stove. She walked next to me, I handed her the spatula. Instructing her to cook, Neru wasnt to bad. She had learned fast and helped me cook. We sat down at the small dinner table and ate out breakfast for dinner.

"This is good!" Neru had her mouth full of crispy bacon. I laughed.

"Well you helped make it." I smiled. We continued to eat, after we did our small bit of dishes. Walking back into the room with the beds.

Neru followed me around like a little lost puppy. I wonder if she followed Nero around like this? Neru never seem like the type to be dependent type, she always acted like she was better off being by herself. I learned a lot from watching Neru the past few days. Flopping on my bed, I wrinkled my blankets. Neru sat next to me, gripping her phone tight.

"Who do you always text?" I asked her, trying to start a conversation.

"I always texted Nero."

"Really all the time?"

"Yeah. I usually spammed his phone everyday. He didnt mind, I guess he was putting up with it for me. Nero is a good brother." Neru sighed and flipped her phone open, started a new message. I peeked over her shoulder, the message was to Nero. "This would be the sixth text this afternoon." I patted her on the shoulder.

"Its ok, once he gets better. He will be so happy to read every single one of those texts." Neru smiled at me, and closed her phone.

"Thanks Miku. Do you know when Yowane and Honne is coming back?" She changed the subject.

"Not till later," I shrugged. Neru said nothing more. She had became more quite than usual, it was really weird and awkward..... But I still had to comfort her. I felt the sunset on my back, letting the warmth fade. Yawning and stretching, I laid back on my bed. Neru looked at me.

"Do you want to go to bed?"

"Ya, Im pretty tried."

"Ok." She got up and went to her bed that was made on the futon. Neru slid under the blankets. Laying in my own mess of a bed, I drifted off to sleep easily.

~time skipped~

I woke up to hear a faint whimper. I looked around at the dark dorm. Haku and Dell were still out. I glance at the clock, 1:45 am. My eyes went wide, where the hell are they? And who is making that whimpering? My eyes scanned the dark dorm, I saw Neru's phone light up against her face. The light had revealed the tears on her face, she had been crying. I fell out of bed and lumbered over to her. Crawling onto her makeshift bed, I pulled her in and hugged her close. Neru grabbed me and hugged me even tighter. She was trying to explain to me why she was crying between sobs.

"Neru, its ok. You don't have to explain yourself, I understand." I let her cry on me. Her sobs could make your heart break. She finally pulled away from me and wiped her face with her sleeve.

"T-Thank you." She said.

"Are you ok?" I asked.

"I don't know....... Im just worried." Her body shook, and a few more tears fell. I laid Neru down and laid beside her.

"Its ok, Im here." I whispered. She curled up near me, and wiped her face in my shirt. Stroking her hair I whispered again. "Sister Miku is here to make it better."
