"David..?" Liza breathed out. He was really there. She dreamed of this moment. Every single night. And there he was. Right outside of her L.A house. Liza was looking at her security camera and kept staring at him. Was she ready to see him again?
Just open it! You might think. It's not that hard Liza just open it, is what you're thinking right now.
But for Liza, it's much more than opening a door. She's not only opening her house door, she's opening the door of David and Liza's relationship. She can either open it or keep it closed.
It was dark outside, only the light from the camera is brightening up the picture.
Liza's trembling hands reach for the buzzer to open her door. But she can't. Why can't she? Not even Liza herself knows.
"Elizabeth? I know you're here. And I know, I feel nervous too. It's been too long. Too long for us to be apart. We need each other Liza. And you know it's true. It's completely evident that we miss each other. No matter how much we deny it we love each other.
Elizabeth Shalia Koshy. From the bottom of my heart, I love you" David said. He was on the verge of tears. David doesn't hear anything in response.
"Liza?" David calls one more time.
He wipes away a tear and starts walking back to his car.
"DAVID!" He hears a voice. He jolts back to look at the girl of his dreams running up to him.
"David, I love you too" she says breathlessly. They stare into each others eyes before smashing their lips together.
It's magical.
It's unreal.
It was easy.
Too easy.
"David?"
"David?!"
"DAVID?!"
There's a distorted voice again. David had blanked out. He's still outside of Liza's house.
HAHA YOU THOUGHT.
Fine I won't be mean.
But this time Liza was standing in front of him.
"Dave, I've been thinking about us everyday. I'm so sorry that I ever broke up with you. But, it's not because we got too busy. I just, I kept something from you. And I felt so guilty" Liza says breaking down.
"What is it Liza? What happened?" David said hugging her.
"Did you cheat?" David whispered.
"Can I tell you inside?" Liza said and David nodded. They sat on the couch. David looked around.
Nothing's changed.
Her house is still the aesthetically pleasing marble decorated house with abstract paintings and fake plants. David chuckled, remembering the first time Liza got a fake plant.
*Flashback*
"David David David David!" Liza squealed.
"What is it baby?" David said chucking.
"Look at these cute plants, aren't they great! That guy is Will, and that guy is Mike, ya know, after stranger things" Liza says all excited and David started laughing.
"That's amazing babe, but-" David touches the plants "are they real?" David said smiling at Liza.
"Well, not exactly, I mean what do you expect, I can't take care of plants!" Liza says and David hugs her.
"Oh baby, we need to pray for our kids, they're gonna be eating the fake plants" David jokes and Liza laughs and playfully hits his chest.
*End of Flashback*
They both take a pause, embracing the fact that they are finally together, after a year, or to them, decades.
Liza clears her throat and looks at David, causing David to look at Liza.
"Dave, before-" Liza interrupts herself with a soft cry.
"Babe, breathe, I'm here" David says ever so calmly.
Liza takes a deep breath and looks back at David.
"I found out that I was pregnant with your baby at the beginning of the week. I was beyond excited. I knew we were young, but I wanted a future with you. But, you know, with our jobs being in the way I never got the chance to tell you. It was stressing me out, juggling my job, you and now the baby. I was stressing myself too much. The day before I broke up with you, I woke up to blood on my sheets. I had gone to the doctor and I had lost our baby. I cried the entire day. That's when I thought that I couldn't have told you that, it was too hard. So instead, I broke it off. I still don't know why that was a solution in my head but at the time it was. I'm so sorry. I thought that you would hate me" Liza pauses and sobs.
A tear rolls down David's cheek. He pulls her in for a hug and keeps her laying in his chest. He waited for her until she was ready to speak again. "I'm so sorry David" Liza spoke into David's chest.
"Liza, you don't have to be sorry. We have time consuming jobs that get out of hand sometimes. Baby, I would never hate you. I missed you so much when we were separated. I ate me alive. But, I can't imagine the pain you went through" David said.
"I pretend I was happy, but I wasn't. I didn't tell anyone about the baby. Not Harris. Nor Jaclyn. I kept it to myself. After the Streamy Awards, it was hard to get back. But I did. My job had made me forget for a day, but all of it would come back the next day. It was a terrible roller coaster" Liza whispered the last part but David heard.
"So, you don't have the baby anymore?" David asked softly and Liza shook her head no.
"You've gone through so much babe, I'm so sorry" David whispered and kisses Liza's forehead.
"You have too, don't think I forgot about-" "Shhh baby, I know, but why don't we put that behind us?" David whispered and Liza nodded.
"Babe, you know, if you want children, we could try-" "DAVID" Liza giggled and they both started laughing.
"I missed your laugh so much" David said smiling.
"I missed this. Being cuddled up together, laughing out butts off" Liza sighed out.
*November 28th, 2021*
"Babe! Where are you taking me?!" Liza says giggling with slight fear. David is leading Liza blindfolded onto a beach, where cameras are hidden. There are rose petals on the board walk and there's candles lit in the board walk as well.
"Take your blindfold off baby" David whispers softly into Liza's ear. She shivers at his voice and takes off the blindfold.
"Babe! What is all this!?" She says and she already has tears forming in her eyes.
"Liza, today marked the day I made the biggest accomplishment in my life. You are my absolute everything. You're not only my girlfriend, but my best friend. We've had our downs but we've had a lot of ups. We're two crazy kids in love and I wouldn't have it any other way. For some people it takes years for them to find true love. And I was blessed to have found it at age nineteen. L.A is where dreams are made. And I've sure found my dream girl. There's no doubt that we need each other. And I want to be with you for the rest of my life. I want to wake up to your beautiful face everyday for the rest of eternity" David bent down on one knee and pulled it a black velvet box with the most beautiful ring inside.
Elizabeth Shalia Koshy, will you do me the honor and marry me?" David said a little teary eyed.
"David, I-I-"
