David's POV
"Yo man you coming to the party tonight?" Todd asks
"Uh parties aren't really my thing dude you know that" I reply closing my locker.
"Come on it'll be fun!" He nags.
"I don't know, I'll probably end up just playing on my phone" I say shrugging.
"But your little crush will be there" he says teasing me
"There's no point Todd she has a boyfriend" I say sadly walking off
*Lunch*
"David you're literally the only senior who's not going to this party" Gabbie says annoyed
"Is everyone gonna nag me about this?" I say sternly
"Okay dude calm down we just want you to have fun" Zane says.
"Yeah yeah whatever" I say and take a bite out of my burger.
"Hey guys" I hear a voice that makes me internally uncomfortable
"You guys coming to my best bud Mark's birthday party tonight?!" He says. Michael. Liza's boyfriend.
He has his arm draped over Liza's shoulder and she's smiling.
Everyone replies "yes" but me.
"What about you Dobrik?" He asks.
"I don't know" I say
"Come on Dave it'll be fun!" Liza says with pleading eyes
I shrug and she looks at me with her big brown puppy eyes.
"Please David, for me?" She says and my heart melts. How could I say no to her
"Yeah sure I'll go" I say giving in and she claps her hands.
"Yay! Thanks guys, see you at the party" She warmly smiles and her and her posse walk away.
"So if we ask, you say no, if Liza asks,
you say yes?" Gabbie snorts.
"Listen-" I start before Scott I interrupts
"He has a thing for Liza so of course he'll say yes to her" he mocks and I roll my eyes and blush slightly
"Oh you still like her? Wow" Gabbie says in shock. The rest of the table laughs and I can't help but feel annoyed.
As I get ready for the party I think of something else other than black to wear. However I end up wearing a black hoodie with black jeans and some original vans. I leave my longish hair out, instead of wearing a hat. I spray some cologne and rinse my mouth with mouth wash. I grab my phone and keys and walk down stairs to say bye to my parents.
"Bye mom, bye dad" I say and kiss my mom on the cheek.
"David are you wearing cologne?" My mom asks chuckling with her hand on her hip.
"Uh" is the only thing I say
"Oooh David's trying to impress a girl" Ester says coming down the stairs sitting on the counter.
"Really?" My mom asks excited.
"What's her name.. Linda? Lisa?" Ester says guessing.
"Her name is Liza, and she has a boyfriend so guys don't get excited" I say slightly defeated.
"Aw son don't feel upset" My dad says and I let out a big sigh.
"Guys I don't need your pity I'm trying to go to this party that i already didn't want to go to in the first place, with a good attitude" I state
"Fine fine, well don't do anything stupid okay?" My mom says kissing my cheek
"I won't trust me" I say almost laughing.
I get in my car and start driving to an address I was sent. I start to think I'm driving in the wrong direction before I see a house with strobe lights flickering and music blasting. I shake my head and park my car. As I get out I mentally prepare myself for the hell I'm going to face.
As you can tell, I. Hate. Parties.
I walk in and see the sweaty bodies dancing their life away on the dance floor. I cringe and try to look for my friends. I text the group chat saying I'm here. No ones drunk yet so that's a good sign. Then again it's only 9:36pm.
My eyes fall on Liza, she's wearing a black cotton v-neck body suit with blue jean shorts that are rolled up at the bottom. She has nude open-toed heels. As for her hair, well it's the same adorable short parted hair. And she has makeup that looks stunning, but honestly with or without makeup she will always look like a goddess.
