David stared at his invitation. It took him awhile to process everything. He knew who was nominated that year. Hell, she's always nominated. Liza Koshy, his ex-girlfriend. It pains him to even think that.
Liza broke up with David after she felt their relationship wasn't healthy enough for her. They wouldn't see each other as much because of their time consuming jobs. More like Liza's time consuming job.
Their break up was what broke David, he stopped posting on his vlog channel and second channel. He stopped production of his and Jason's podcast, and Jason completely agreed. David didn't participate in any parties of birthdays and he wasn't in anyone's vlog. David didn't even celebrate his own birthday.
David was simply broken.
It wasn't a nasty break up, Liza just simply talked to David in her house saying how they should split.
Then, David, respecting Liza said that he understood and walked out of his loved one's house heartbroken, angry yet disappointed in himself.
When in reality, it wasn't his fault. David doesn't know what Liza's up to now, he had blocked any Liza-related thing in his life.
He changed his Instagram bio, and deleted every Instagram post their was of him and Liza.
*Flashback*
"David, I think that we're not having such a good boyfriend and girlfriend relationship right now" Liza says and David tries to hold back his tears and he simply nods. "I mean, I love you, just too much is happening right now and I don't think being in a relationship will help" Liza says, David repeats to action. "I guess what I'm trying to say is that, David I'm so sorry but I'm breaking up with you" Liza says lowly and David let's a tear roll down his cheek.
"I-I u-understand L-Liza. I want o-only the b-best f-for you. I love you. Goodbye" David chokes out and breaks down. Liza stares at him and cries a little too. But not as much as David. David gets himself out of that house as fast as he could. He got into his Tesla and put it on auto-drive. David is now full on crying like never before. He hugs himself while crying.
Usually when David feels sad he goes to Liza. But he can't. Not anymore.
He went to the boys house and knocked on their door, still crying hard. Jason opened the door and his smile turned to a frown. "What happened man?! Why are you crying?!" Jason said clearly confused and concerned. David cries and Jason's arms and the others show up. "Woah what happened to David?" Todd says and Scott and Kristen come up to David and try to hug David. "Hey buddy tell us what happened" Jason said and David nodded.
"L-Liza b-broke up w-with me" David said and crawled up in a little ball on the floor, a crying mess. "Dude what did you do?" Jason said and David explained the whole thing. "David, you will get better, I promise" Jason says and David just stares blankly at the wall. "She was my everything, she was my one and only" David said emotionless and Jason nods and hugs David.
*End of Flashback*
David looked back at the invitation and stared at the date.
November 28th
A date he'll never forget. And sometimes he wish he did. He decided to go. So he packed his things and headed off to the boys house.
*Day of Awards*
David got ready in his black button up and black tie with his black dress pants with a navy blue belt. He also had matching navy blue dress shoes.
This is the most dressed up David has been since the breakup. David looked at himself in the mirror and decided to not wear his hat, he fixed his hair a little and it actually looked very good considering Jason forced David to get a haircut. David half smiled and met up with Jason and the crew.
*At the Awards*
David's POV
I was nervous, extremely nervous. This would be the first time I see Liza after she broke up with me. My palms were sweaty and you could tell it on my face that I was nervous and stressed out. "Hey man, calm down" Jason said and I nodded. I was looking around and I spotted Liza. She was beautiful. She was always beautiful in my eyes. She was walking with some other dude and a girl. I thought nothing of it and looked away.
