Our Journey (Sasusaku)

Chapter 2: "Home"

    The sun was shining brightly and there was not a cloud in the sky. The sky has always been bluer in Konoha. Some wild flock of birds was flying freely in the thick forest while the wind softly blew the fallen leaves on the town's road. It was a nice day. It was a peaceful day.

       A young man in a black cloak was slowly walking towards Konoha. It has been years since the last time he walked on that road. From far away he can see the big gate of his town. He started to remember one of his first missions as an official shinobi. There, he stood patiently listening to his loud teammate whining about being a ninja and becoming a Hokage someday.

"That idiot..." he whispered while smirking because he started to remember that his idiot best friend is about to become the Seventh Hokage.

        The cold wind softly blew again which made his dark locks cover his face. He threw the black hair back from his forehead, touched his forehead, and remembered someone. It's her. The reason for his return. The reason why he won't come back to darkness anymore. His home.

       Two younger shinobis suddenly appeared in front of him.

"Introduce yourself and tell us your purpose in coming to Konoha!" shouted one of them. Based on his uniform he was a Chūnin.

        The young man's dark eyes looked at the two younger Shinobi and he spoke, "Uchiha Sasuke and I came to return home."

"Haruno Sakura! The best kunoichi in her generation. The head director of the Konoha Hospital. A magnificent beauty with monstrous strength when are you gonna marry me?!" shouted the man in bed, rimmed with thick black lashes and with bandages wrapped around his right arm and right foot. He suffered a wrist, arm, and foot fracture when he slipped on the ice during his training.

"Shut up Lee! Never! Even if you'll shave your brows!" Sakura cried while smiling at her patient.

      The nurse behind Sakura started to giggle. "Say Lady Sakura, is she also one of your admirers?" asked the young lady.

      Sakura shrugged her shoulders. "Nope. That's just the side effect of the medicines we gave him." she read Rock Lee's record.

"Okay, we'll have to X-ray his arm again. It looks like he will be wearing his arm way out by his side for a while." Sakura said to the nurse.

       Sakura opened the windows to air the room when Naruto's clone suddenly appeared on the window.

"Sakura-chan! I just dropped by at your apartment and you weren't there yet dattebayo! Are you doing overtime again? It's time to go! Hey, bushy brow what the hell happened to you?!"

       Rock Lee waved his left hand though he started to look dizzy because of the medicines he had taken.

"Anyway... it's time to go Sakura-chan!" yelled Naruto.

"Eh?" she muttered.

"Did you forget-ttebayo! He is coming back today! Sasuke is back!" he grins from ear to ear.

"Y-yes it's today!" Sakura's face flushed and her green eyes widened with excitement. She removed her lab gown and gloves and handed them over to the young nurse behind her.

"Well, my shift is over, and time to go home!" she jumped out of the window and ran towards the gate of Konoha.

"He-hey wait! I'm still here dattebayo!" shouted Naruto who was still in Rock Lee's room.

        After being cleared from the guardhouse and received a confirmation from the Jonin's department plus the Sixth directive, Sasuke was released from the headquarters and was allowed to enter Konoha.

        The sun started to set in the west and the insects were starting to produce a loud buzzing noise. Sasuke slowly walked towards the gate of Konoha and there stood his lover waiting for him. A pink-haired young woman in a red qipao dress while her slim white hands are behind her.

"Sakura... I'm home." he whispered. He smiled at her. A smile that is only for Sakura.

"Welcome home Sasuke-kun!" she said. She smiled sweetly at Sasuke.
