Chapter 7

     What the fuck do I do, how do I tell dad? The senior night game was over, we rocked the field, and the football team won, so it was all well and good. Except for the fact I got a 16yr old girl pregnant! I should have just walked away. Why didn't I walk away? I knew why, of course. It was a girl I liked, and I'm a teenage boy. Dad's gonna kill me. I walked Meghan halfway to her car, when she stopped, "my parents aren't happy with you right now, I better go by myself." I nodded and kissed her goodnight. I turned and saw dad's truck. I hopped in the passenger seat and we pulled out of the parking lot. "What was that all about, is everything okay." I looked down and fiddled with my seat belt. Dad sighed, "did you two get into an argument?" I shook my head no. My eyes started to fill up with tears. Men don't cry. I wiped it away. I whispered under my breath, "I got her pregnant." My dad slammed on the break. "What?" he said sternly. "I got her pregnant, okay?" I said with tear filled eyes. He pulled over into a gas station parking lot. "You got her pregnant?!" He shouted. I nodded. He faced me, "what the hell were you thinking?" I looked at him, "I wasn't, It just happened, she pulled me into the closet and then..." My dad sighed, "so it's her fault." I shrugged, "Kinda, but I could have walked away, and it's my spe..." My dad shook his head, "don't use that word." I laughed under my breath. My dad chuckled, then got serious again, "you're not walking away from her. You got her pregnant, your stuck with her. If she decides to abort it or put it up for adoption, that's her choice to make, not yours. Understand?" I nodded yes. He started driving again. "I can't believe I'm on that side of the speech," he whispered. "What?" I asked. Dad sighed, "Your mom and I were teen parents bud." I looked down. Oh. The rest of the ride home was silent. I went straight to bed when I got home. Maybe this is all a dream, I thought as I fell into a deep sleep.
