I'm gonna be a dad. I lay in bed that night thinking. A dad. Another month passed by just as slow as the rest. The day arrived when Finley's parents took Finley and I to the OB/GYN. Today was the day we find out the babies' gender. As nervous as I was to become a father, I was excited. We arrived at the doctors and signed in. Finley and I sat down in the waiting room. Finley picked up a nearby magazine to read. I sat watching the kids play with the waiting room toys. God, I'm not ready. Soon, the doctor came out. "Finley Price, Parker Woods?" Finley and I headed back to the sonogram room with the doctor. The doctor, Dr. Mine, had Finley lay down on a table. Soon, she had the sonogram machine up and running. She lay an x ray thing on Finley's stomach, and soon am x ray of the baby popped up on the screen. I smiled and looked at Finley, who was also smiling. "It looks like you guys are having a little boy," Dr. Mine announced. Finley smiled. "Here that, were having a mini you, Parker." I smiled. A little boy. We decided to keep it a secret because Finley wanted to throw a gender reveal party on Saturday. When Saturday arrived, we decided to make a paper mache volcano, and put blue food coloring in the baking soda. The party was just My dad, Finley's parents, Finley's grandparents and a few close friends. After we ate, it was time to poor the vinegar into the volcano. Everyone counted down from 10, and when they reached 1, Finley and I poured the vinegar in. Soon, a blue liquid poured over the top. Everyone cheered. Afterward, everyone started socializing. The party passed quickly and after everyone left, and I helped clean up, my dad and I went home. As we pulled up to a stop light, I got an idea. "Hey dad, Finley's birthday is next Saturday." I stated. "Okay, and?" he asked. "Is it a bad time to give her a promise ring?" My dad smiled, "Not at all bud, we'll go get one tomorrow." I smiled.
