The next day, we went to Pandora. I picked out a rose gold, diamond promise ring. After we bought it, we went to Burger King. "How are you going to give it to her?" my dad asked. "I'll take her out to eat Friday at that fancy place, then I give it to her there. I have enough money left to do it, can you give us a ride?" He smiled, "sure. You're a chip off the old shoulder my boy." I rolled my eyes and laughed. That night I called her up on the phone and asked her out on the date. Of course, she said yes. Then next week passed by slowly. Meghan had to drop out of band, and I heard that Tailgate was thinking about doing the same. James stopped me in the hall on Friday afternoon before 4th block. "Hey bud, we need to talk," he said. "What's up?" I asked. We walked into the bathroom. "I need more cash," he stated. "I don't have anymore, dude, sorry." He shrugged, "are you sure?" I nodded, "Yeah." "Shit," he said. With that I left the bathroom and headed to band. Suddenly I heard a noise behind me. "So, Mr. Martin, it's you who's been smoking in here?" James finally got caught. I then ran to the band room, hoping he didn't bring my name up. After band was over, I walked Finley to her bus. "I'll pick you up at 6," I told her. She smiled and kissed me on the cheek, "Love you." I smiled, "I love you too."

I got home and took a shower and got ready for my date. This is the nicest you've dressed sense, well. Mom died. I frowned. I turned around and put the ring box into my jacket pocket. My dad and I arrived at Finley's at 5:59. I walked up to the door and knocked. Finley answered. She was wearing a beautiful black dress. "You look so amazing," I said smiling. She smiled shyly. I took her hand and walked her to the truck. I opened the back door for her, and we climbed in. At the restaurant, we ordered steak and potatoes, with a side of rolls. When the moment felt right, I got down on one knee and pulled the ring box out of my pocket, and opened it up. Finley gasped. "Finley Marie Harley, I promise to always be here for you, and always care for you. I promise to help you take care of our son, and I promise I'll never walk out on you. I love you Finley. Will you promise to someday, when the time is right, marry me?" She started crying. "Yes, Parker." She stood up and pulled me off my knee and we kissed. Nearby customers started clapping. I slid the ring on her finger and we kissed. After we finished eating, I took her home. I walked her to the door, and kissed her. The I jumped into the passenger seat of dad's truck. "How'd it go?" he asked. "Amazing," I said. My dad smiled, "good." With that we headed home.
