The Dragon Master Part II: Rewritten (A Httyd Fanfiction)

Chapter 13: War has begun part I

(Normal pov)

The Hairy Hooligans, Bog Burglars and Meatheads gathered at the Isle of Night, they now had discuss the threat that was fast approaching the horizon. Hiccup stood with Astrid and Mala, the comfort from both his wife and good friend eased his doubts and fears. With everyone gathered, Hiccup had everyone join at the table that had the entire Archipelago and beyond it's boarders.

"Drago Bludvist is coming for one singular purpose. To rule this world as a Dragon-God." Everyone murmured slightly and Stoick's face twisted in displeasure, he remembered what that man did to his fellow chieftains years ago. "He's giving us two options: submit or die. I for one will not bow before a man who thinks himself a god, I will fight tooth and nail to keep my family and my people safe!!" Hiccup barked out, causing everyone to roar in agreement, Hiccup drew his long knife and pointed toward the map.

"My spies tell us that Drago's army is in this region, they've informed me that he has tens of thousands of men and dragons; along with with three alpha class dragons, the Red Death, a Screaming Death and the third is a wild card, but it's something big. So, we need to act now before Drago destroys everything we love and we are forced to bow and scrape to his tyranny." Hiccup said as he looked at his allies and friends, Stoick stepped up and nodded. "I've seen what Drago is capable of. He's a madman; without conscience or mercy. He will stop at nothing to achieve his goal." Hiccup grunted in agreement and turned to everyone else.

"I received message from Valka Haddock, my mother, she says that Drago has his eyes set on her mountains Bewilderbeast. If Drago wants to control dragons, he'll need alphas to keep them in line, we're going to split our forces into four groups. Myself and a handful of my best riders will aid Valka at the Dragon Sanctuary." Hiccup looked at Mala and placed a hand on her shoulder.

"Mala, you will lead our people and defend our home." Mala nodded and gestured two Black Guards to ready the others for battle.

"Stoick, I'll send Calus and Artemis to aid you and the Hooligans." Stoick nodded and gestured the Hooligans to return to their ships and dragons with Calus and Artemis in tow.

Hiccup turned his attention to the Bogs. "I'm sending half of my swarm to help protect Bog Island. Send message via Terror mail if you require aid." The Bogs bowed their heads and went outside, and finally Hiccup turned his attention to the Meatheads.

"I'm half sending the second half of my swarm to aid you. Drago will no doubt be plotting to attack us all simultaneously." The Meatheads nodded and headed outside, leaving only Hiccup and Astrid, he turned around to look at her and let out a shuddering sigh. "Listen, no matter what happens today, I love you. You mean the world to me." Hiccup whispered as he grasped his wife's shoulders, Astrid smiled and hugged her husband, he held onto to her with all his strength.

"I love you too Hiccup, so much." She whispered, Hiccup smiled kissed her forehead, when Astrid pulled away, they walked outside to see Asbjorn, Fishlegs, the twins and Heather with a Night Fury named Midnight. "We go to Valka's Sanctuary. Let's ride!" And with that Hiccup, Astrid and the other rides shot up toward the heavens and headed to their destination. Mala looked up and sighed heavily. "Good luck to us all." She whispered before walked toward her battalion of Black Guards and remaining dragon riders.

Upon arriving at the Dragon Sanctuary, Hiccup and his squad of dragon riders spotted hundreds of war ships anchored off the shore and thousands of soldiers advancing toward the mountain; along with armored dragons. The mountain was taking heavy fire from catapults and cannon fire, while dragons began pouring out of their nest to protect their home from the aggressors.

Razor netting was fired at the dragons defending their home, trapping them and grounding them as Drago's soldiers delivered kill blows. Drago himself stepped on the beach with his bull-hook in hand and his lip curled up. "Whatever comes, keep hitting the mountain! We need to draw the alpha out!" He barked out over the battle. Soldiers charged the mountain as dragons continued pouring out of the nest to defend their home.
