Chapter 8: No ordinary girl

Tsuzuki Mia's POV

Tsuzuki-onii-chan opens the door of the mansion but when we came in,no one was in and the mansion is so dark. It's a good thing I brought my flashlight.

"Hello? Is anyone here?" Tsuzuki-onii-chan called out.

"It's quiet and the mansion is creepy...oh,look at that" I point the flashlight to a statue of a scary-looking monster.

When they turn around to see what I saw,Tsuzuki-onii-chan was shocked that he screamed and hid behind my back. Hisoka and I sweatdrop. Is he really 97 years old?

"Um...Tsuzuki-onii-chan?" I called his attention.

Tsuzuki-onii-chan realized what he is doing and stood up. "Huh? Oh! Sorry...man, that was scary"

"You're such a wimp" Hisoka said.

Tsuzuki-onii-chan went dog mode."But it was so scary!" He whine.

I just giggled.

"Wait a minute,aren't you scared,Mia-chan?" Tsuzuki-onii-chan snap out of his dog mode as he asked me.

"A little,but I'm already used to the dark...but, Hisoka-kun seems scared"

"N-no,I am not" Hisoka said quickly.

"Please wait for a moment, I'll just fix the flashlight...to make it more brighter"

While it was fixing the flashlight,Hisoka and Tsuzuki-onii-chan were looking around. But this mansion is odd, Tatsumi-san said this is the mansion where the Yamato family lives...but how come there is no one in here? There is a possibility that they went somewhere but I'm pretty sure they would not leave the door open...now that you mention it, the door was not even secured since Tsuzuki-onii-chan was able to open it easily...

"Hey what's this?...dammit, I can't see anything"I heard Hisoka said.

"Sorry for the wait"I said.

I finished the flashlight and point it to Tsuzuki-onii-chan and Hisoka-kun so that they can see as well. The flashlight was so bright that it nearly brighten the mansion. Then we saw a little mouse besides Hisoka.

"What is that?" Tsuzuki-onii-chan asked.

"Here,hold this for a moment" I handed my flashlight to Tsuzuki-onii-chan which he accepted as I crouch down to hold the mouse.

"It's a dead mouse...and it looks like that it just died just a minute ago"

Kurosaki Hisoka's POV

When the room was brighten,thanks to Mia who fixed her unique flashlight, I became less scared of the dark...but how come she notice that I was afraid of darkness?...wait,I got to keep focus...

We found a dead mouse on the floor and Mia said it just died a few minutes ago. I used my empathy to search the mansion but I found nothing.

"What is the cause of death of that mouse?"I heard Tsuzuki asked Mia.

"I don't know but the mouse smells weird"Mia said.

"Aren't dead mouse suppose to smell bad?" I asked.

"I know, but this mouse doesn't smell like dead but it smells like almond...wait...almond?...oh! I better cover my nose" Mia said as she used her handkerchief to cover her nose,much to our curiosity.

"Um,Mia-chan why are you covering your nose?" Tsuzuki asked Mia.

"Because the cause of death of this mouse was probably because it sniffed a cyanide."
