Chapter 24: The other Mia

Tsuzuki Asato's POV

After a very long day of work, We finally took a break...Mia-chan fell asleep as soon as she finishes helping us. And it really worries me. Before she lost her memories,Mia-chan is always energetic even after helping us in our work, she only fall asleep after 30 minutes but now...

"Worried about her,huh?"

I look at the door and saw Hisoka standing there while looking at the both of us in concern.

"Yeah...it's like...she became a whole different person..." I put my hand on Mia-chan's head,who is sleeping with her head on top of her arms on the desk, and stroke it gently.

"You're feeling guilty again...aren't you?"He suddenly said.

...He read my mind again...

"...But-"I was about to say something when Hisoka interrupts me.

"But nothing...It's not your fault why you couldn't stop Muraki in getting Mia...Mia said it too,didn't she?...She doesn't blame you if anything happens to her"Hisoka said as he went to me and pat me on the head.

I feel like I'm the kid here not him...

We decided to go home. I carried Mia-chan on my back. Then when we arrive, I put Mia-chan on the bed and I went out to buy some food.Hisoka said that he'll take care of Mia-chan so I don't have to worry.After buying food, I was almost to our apartment when suddenly I heard an explosion and when I looked up, I gasp because the explosion happens exactly where Mia-chan and Hisoka were. I hurriedly go up. Then when I arrived,I saw Hisoka holding Mia-chan close while Muraki was approaching them.

"Hisoka!"I called out.

"Don't come here,Tsuzuki!"Hisoka said.

Muraki smirked."It seems all of the guest are here"

Suddenly Muraki transported us in a abondon laboratory and to my surprise, Tatsumi, Watari and Gushoshin were also there.

"Tsuzuki-san?" Tatsumi was also surprise.

Mia-chan then woke up.

"Mia?"Hisoka called Mia-chan's name.

"H-Hisoka-kun?...where are we?"Mia-chan asked as she sat up and Hisoka help her.

"Princess...please stop the act already and tell them the truth"Muraki suddenly said.

"What? What are you talking about? what act?"I asked.

Mia-chan...is...no, I shouldn't jump to conclusions. He is probably trying to trick us again. I look at Mia and I saw her head bow down with her eyes hidden in her bangs.

"Mia-chan?"

Then we heard a glass break and water spilling.Muraki look behind him in shocked.

"How did she-?

"She?"

Who is this "she" that he was talking about?

I look to where Muraki was looking and so is Hisoka, Tatsumi, Watari and Gushoshin. Then I saw something that really shocked all of us. A girl appear and...She is...

"M-Mia-chan?"Both Watari and I said.

There...is another Mia-chan?!

"But...then who is this Mia-san with us?"Gushoshin asked in shocked.

I look at the Mia-chan who was still besides Hisoka. What does it mean? Why is there another Mia?

"How did you escaped?"Muraki asked the other Mia-chan.

"...I won't let you hurt...Tsuzuki-onii-chan and the others..."The other Mia-chan said weakly as she went in front of me as if she was covering me.

Muraki stayed quiet for a while. He suddenly smirk.

"I guess I got no choice...Since you broke our promise...I will kill your friends in front of you!"

Muraki then summon a beast and It suddenly fire at Mia-chan who was covering me.

"M-Mia-chan!"

Everything seems to went slow. Tatsumi and the others tried to reach us and Mia-chan in front of me stood in shocked. Then all of the sudden, a figure went in front of Mia-chan and got hit instead. Mia-chan and I were shocked as well as everybody in the room. The other Mia got hit in the heart and her body falls down.

"C-chotto anta!"Mia-chan said.

Mia-chan went to her double."Iskarishte!"

The other Mia cough and was dying slowly.She look at Mia-chan weakly.

"I...I'm sorry...if I tricked...you all...I'm actually...a fake..."The other Mia confessed quietly.

Hisoka and the others were as shocked as me.

"A...fake?"Gushoshin asked.

"...Tatsumi...What shall we do?"Watari asked in concern.

"With that wound that deep...even if you heal her,she'll..."Tatsumi didn't continue what he said.

"It's okay...I...wanted...to tell you...everything...I'm...really sorry...I didn't mean...to trick you...I really have...no...intention of hurting...you..all of you are...really so nice to me...no wonder...Mia...loves you"

"Why?...why did you protect me?"Mia-chan was crying.

"...you...don't deserve...to be killed...you...were...so nice...you're kind...brave and...will always do her very best to...help people even me...your double...and...besides...if I saw myself...got killed in front of me...it's weird..."

"It's weird for me too, Please don't die"Mia-chan plead.

"Mia?"I went to the both of them.

"Tsu-Tsuzuki-onii-chan...I'm sorry...for lying to you...you all got hurt because of me...so please don't feel sad"

I shook my head."Of course I'll be sad!I don't care if you are a fake...You are special to me too!...So please don't die"I also plead.

"Tsuzuki-san"I heard Tatsumi said with a concern tone in his voice.

Mia took my hand and smiled."Thank you...ne,Mia-chan...all of your memories...returned...right?"

Mia-chan nodded weakly.

"I'm really sorry...I really wanted...to have more adventures...with you...all..."Mia's voice trailed off and her hand fell to her side.Mia-chan started to cry hard. I felt myself shaking in anger and in sadness.

"How foolish...she could have just let the other one die..."Muraki said.

Then Tatsumi and Watari launch their attack at Muraki who dodges them all. Then Mia's body glows and it turns into a giant feather and it attached itself on Mia-chan's back then after that Mia-chan suddenly fainted. I hurried to her side and brought her close to me. Tatsumi then uses his shadow to transport us back. But as we arrived,I couldn't help but be confuse at the situation...since when did Mia-chan got capture? and how did she and the other Mia change places in a short period of time without us noticing. I look at Mia-chan who is still unconscious.All of us were all quiet. We really couldn't talk for a while because of what happen so Tatsumi told us to go back to rest and so we did.

*Flashbacks*

"Tsuzuki-onii-chan...I'll tell you everything tomorrow..."Mia-chan said as she look at her double.

*End of flashback*

"Mia-chan..."

Finally I'm able to update.
