Chapter 17: The past, Muraki strikes back part 3

Normal POV

When Tsuzuki fainted, he began to have a dream. In his dream was Mia standing in front of him. Her face was emotionless like she was possessed.

"Mia-chan?"

When he was about to go near her, Mia look up to him suddenly. Tears flowing from her eyes and her body was full of blood.

"T-Tsuzuki...-onii-chan...d-doste?..."Mia said as she comes near him and was reaching out to him. Tsuzuki became scared. When he looked at his hands, he panic because on his hands were blood, Mia's blood. And surrounding him are bodies of dead people. All are full of blood.

"O-onii-ch-chan...did...I do s-something...wrong?...why?...w-why...did you...hurt me?...you...promise...t-to...protect me...you're a liar..."Mia said as her face become scary.

"No...n-no!...I-I did that...t-to...you?"Tsuzuki begins to panic even more.

"Liar! You're a liar!"Mia's voice scream out to him.

He covers his ears and began to say sorry. Mia's voice were dark and angry. He couldn't help but cry and cry.

"Gomenasai...gomenasai"

Then another voice was heard. It was a warm and loving voice.

"Tsuzuki-onii-chan!"

"T-that voice...Mia-chan?"Tsuzuki had a flashback.

*flashback*

The night of Tsuzuki and Mia's birthday:

"Mia-chan" Tsuzuki called to Mia.

"Hai?"

"...I think it's best if you stay away from me..."

"Eh!? But why? Did I do something wrong to you? If I did, I'm so sorry"Mia asked as she face Tsuzuki with a sad look on her face.

"No,you didn't do anything wrong...it's just that...if you are with me, you might get killed...I don't want that to happen...beside I'm a shinigami, a human like yourself, shouldn't met a shinigami...our job is normally to bring the dead here...but you are still alive...and you don't belong here in this world...if you die here because of me...I wouldn't be able to live any longer...even if I'm already dead..."Tsuzuki said as he bows his head.

"But shinigamis can also be called angels, since they both bring the dead here to Enma-Daioh-sama...besides...Even if I got killed, it's not your fault, I wouldn't blame you for it...please live...live for your friends who are here for you...besides, I won't let myself get killed easily..."Mia then hug Tsuzuki."You said yourself, didn't you? You promise to protect me and I promise to protect and help all of you...I'm sorry if I become a burden to all of you...you all been very kind to a stranger like me...but all of you are my new family now..."

"Mia...-chan..."

"Please promise me that you will live forever for me...oh not only for me but for your friends who are supporting you"

"Eh? Mia-chan...that's impossible, I'm already dead..."

"Yeah but even shinigamis can't stay for long...so please promise me that you won't blame yourself in everything that will happen and you will live for the people who are waiting for you...promise?" Mia said as she held out her pinky finger to Tsuzuki."This is an equivalent exchange"Mia declared as she smile.

Tsuzuki can't help but smile. Mia is really good at comforting people...she really is a special girl.

"Thanks Mia-chan...I promise" he also held out his pinky finger and the two made a finger promise before hugging each other again.

*flashback ends*

Kazutaka Muraki's POV

"Oh? He seems to be resisting his nightmare...this is rare..."

Why does Tsuzuki-san's face seems peaceful...earlier he has a scared look on his sleeping face but now...how did he resist my mental torture...?

"Now this is interesting, he is not affected by the nightmares I given him"

"What? What do you mean?"

"I done this before to him and he easily went to suicidal state and I can easily possessed him but now, he seems to be resisting it..."I explain to the man beside me.

"Hmmm...maybe it's because of that girl...that girl from the other world possessed strange powers that it brings peace to the person who are mentally depressed because of their dark past...she has the power of "Hope and Love",weird huh?"

"I never heard of a power like that...those are stupid human emotions so I couldn't care less anyway"

Hope and Love? Ha, don't make me laugh, there is no such thing as hope and love, those are stupid emotions that humans have...

"Those powers are worthless, I don't even get why you want that girl...Frei-sama"

Freih-sama just smirk to me."You still don't know a thing,huh?...that girl not only have that power...same as that guy over there"Freih-sam then point at the sleeping Tsuzuki-san who is in the cage."her body is not of a normal human, she survived with no food, water or sleep for 8 years...but she is still alive...the difference is while that Tsuzuki's body still died when he committed suicide, That girl, even if she didn't try to commit suicide but was involve in an accident which a normal person could have died,survive without a scratch or broken bones on her body...like her body was immortal...and immortality is my goal!"Freih-sama said as he laugh maniacally

"Immortality...now that's unusual...well, princess, I have nothing against you...but what will you do now? If you don't rescue Tsuzuki-san, he will disappear and forget about you forever..."I thought to myself.

"Come! Come to me,my little toy!"Freih-sama shouted with evil excitement on his voice.

Normal POV

Outside a building:

"Tsuzuki-onii-chan..."

"Mia,let's go"Hisoka said as he held out his hand to Mia.

"Okay..."Mia said as she took Hisoka's hand.

Mia and Hisoka hurriedly went inside the building and went to the basement. Mia predicted that the place where Tsuzuki was kept in was in the building's basement. When they got there, they saw Tsuzuki inside the cage. He was still unconscious.

"Tsuzuki-onii-chan!"

"You finally came, welcome to my beloved home,princess..."

Hisoka pulls Mia close to him."show yourself,who are you?"

The man came out of the darkness."My name is Freih and I came to get the girl now hand her over to me"

"I won't let you, she isn't a thing, let Tsuzuki go!"Hisoka said as he protect Mia."I swear if you hurt him I won't forgive you"

Freih just smirk."Equivalent exchange"

Mia and Hisoka gasp.

"Hand over that girl and I'll hand Tsuzuki to you...equivalent exchange,right?...I know you care deeply for Tsuzuki...now if you don't want to see him in pieces, just hand over the girl"

The two became silent. What should they do?
