Dei woke up one morning to the bright sunlight streaming through the curtains. She turned her body towards the other side and immediately smiled at the sight of her sleeping husband.
Having twins as their first kids were twice the hardship in terms of babysitting. Kaya malaki ang pasalamat niya kay Alden na sa kabila ng pagiging busy nito sa trabaho, he still tried to help her in taking care of their kids.
Kung sabay na iiyak ang kambal sa gitna ng gabi, he would stand up too to take care of the other. If she’s going to breastfeed the babies, he would play with the other one until it was the other baby’s turn to drink. And Alden was being patient too in terms of his needs. It’s been months since they last had sex and whenever they try doing it, something will always happen. His phone will ring, the babies will cry, or a sudden visitor will come in their house.
Dei felt Alden shift slightly on the bed and his strong arms wrapped around her waist as his eyes slowly opened and gazed down at her.
“No greeting?” he cheekily uttered in a hoarse tone.
“Happy New Year...?”
Alden chuckled and was unconsciosly rubbing his palm up and down the bare skin of her tummy. “Isang linggo nang tapos ang New Year celebration, babe.”
“Eh ano gusto mong greetings ko sayo?” she teasingly smiled.
“The usual...”
Dei giggled when Alden suddenly hovered on top of her and pounced the crook of her neck with his lips. His hands were slowly skimming in to her pajama shirt and was about to pleasure her aching nipples when they heard a baby’s cry down the hall. Then the cry turned to cries and Alden groaned helplessly as he climbed out of the bed to tend the twins. Sumunod naman agad sa asawa si Dei. Her face still flushed.

Kris immediately smiled once he heard the update on his earpiece. “The TuLam twins are here. I repeat, the TuLam twins are here.”Mabilis na nagpaalam siya kay Joyce at nagpunta sa labas ng Cathedral para salubungin ang mag-asawang Faulkerson. His men had already secured the place so all that was left was for him to held the limousine’s door open for his boss - and friend’s - wife.
Unang lumabas, as usual, ay si Alden.
“Kanina pa naghihintay ang mga bisita, Mr. A.”
“I know,” he grumbled and frowned. “Of all days, ngayon pa nagkaroon ng tantrums ang mga anak ko. Ang hirap bihisan.”
Alden quickly bend to take the sleeping boy from the customized baby seater. Once Kris saw the baby in a black tuxedo, he smiled.
“Tuba definitely looks like the small version of you now.”
“Ah.... Princess Lamba,” he cooed and took the sleeping pink-dressed baby from Dei’s arms.
“Ayan na naman kayo sa mga palayaw niyo. Pagkatapos nitong binyag, itigil niyo iyang kaka-TuLam twins sa mga anak ko ah.” Dei annoyingly stepped out of the limo and took her baby girl into her arms. “Kasalanan mo ‘to Alden eh.”
Everyone was quick to complement the twin’s cute appearances.
In the middle of the Priest’s blessing for the twins, Alden cautiously wrapped an arm around Dei’s waist and she immediately got his message. “Ayokong bigyan ng bantot na pangalan itong mga anak ko, Alden. Pero dahil loves kita, pinapatawad na kita sa pagbibigay mo ng bantot na palayaw sa kanila.”
Alden smiled and kissed the top part of her head. “No one will dare to call the twins in that name. Trust me.”
Tumango lang si Dei and smiled at her two angels. When the Priest called the attention of the parents and godparents, they were quick to stand on the baptismal font.
The twins cried together when they felt the cold water being poured down over their head.
“I baptize you, Charmaine and Thirdy, in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
“Amen!”
“I prefer to call them Tuba and Lambanog.”
“The TuLam twins are moving. I repeat, the Tulam twins are moving.” Kris whispered on his earpiece, suggesting that they were about to change the venue for the reception.
