Hayden

It's been a few days since the video of Annie was released and I've been in the studio 24/7...literally. We start tour in 4 days and Annie and I are practicing on a mini stage.

"Okay that was great! Hayden when you are singing the last line how about you take Annie's hand and hold it?" DJ suggested.

a/n I changed his name bc it sounded too much like Jayden lololol

"Um...yeah sure." I said with a nod. We sang the song again and I did as DJ said.

"That was great! Tomorrow everyone will be practicing for our next concert." DJ said packing everything up. I walked off the stage and grabbed my stuff.

As I was about to open the door, I heard Annie mumble things to herself.

I think she said that she didn't have a ride?

"Do you need a ride?" I asked. She looked up at me. "Come on."

I walked out and got in my car with Annie.

"Hayden you do-"

"No, you need to get home." I interrupted. She stayed quiet.

"Can you put on the radio?" She asked quietly. I did as she said and Little Do You Know was on.

I tensed up and so did she, but none of us changed it. We just sat there and listened to the lyrics.

I waited until the song was over to start talking.

"Remember when I begged you to sing that on the bus?" I asked with a grin.

"How could I forget? It was when I realized that singing was my dream." Annie smiled.

We went on and on about all the memories we've had. We laughed. A lot. Until there was a silence.

"Have you actually worn the hair tie after all these years?" She asked. She was clearly nervous and didn't want to bring up that topic.

I looked down at my wrist. "Uh...yeah." She didn't say anything after that. "Do you?" I asked just as nervous as she was.

"I wore it everyday until one day...I thought I lost it." She paused. "Two days ago, I saw it on my dresser." She looked down at her wrist and I did too. The blue hair tie.

a/n I'm making this so dramatic oml

"I mean, they're just hair ties. Didn't they symbolize us, like, us dating?" Before I could answer she started to talk again. "We should just throw them away or something or just take them off, right?"

"Throw them away?" I asked.

"I mean they aren't that important anymore."

I stopped the car.

"Get out."

"What?" She asked hurt.

"Annie, get out."

"Hayden I didn't know those hair ties were so important to you. I'm sorr-"

"Please get out of my car." I said with tears filling my eyes.

She got out speechless and stood there looking at me.

I drove off. Those hair ties are important to me. Like, really important. She just doesn't know why.
