"Did you bring the medicines I prepared?" Connor asked Maddison Grace immediately when both of them went out from the car. Kararating lang kasi nila sa university and it was already late. Iyon kasi ang unang araw ng University Week nila. At parehas nilang dalawang hindi naabutan ang opening ceremony ng event.
She just nodded. Mamaya ay pupuntahan pa niya ang room nila ng Journalism Club niya. Mamaya rin kasi ay magsisimula na rin siyang mag-oobserve sa mga activities for the University. Siya kasi ang nakaassign na magsusulat ng sports section for the school paper.
Connor smiled at her genuinely. Sa pagkakaalala niya, dapat itong pumunta ng maaga sa opening ceremony dahil required ang lahat ng varsity team players na umattend sa opening ceremony ng event. But then he was smiling like it was okay to be late - and somehow, it was even her fault why they were late.
Nakaramdam naman siya nang may humahaplos sa buhok niya. She knows it was already late in the morning. Pinagsabihan nita kasi si Yaya Jeni na hindi muna siya makakapasok sa school sa araw na iyon. Her morning sickness was really getting worst. Kanina nga pagkagising niya ay nakaramdam siya kaagad ng pagkahilo at nagsuka. Then she suddenly had severe headache after it. She instantly felt her body was drained. She couldn't get up.
"Hmm," She groaned. Sa mga oras na iyon, parang gusto na niyang maiyak dahil sa sakit ng ulo niya, "Ang sakit..." She complained. Hindi lang iyon, parang sumasakit din ang buong katawan niya.
She slowly opened her eyes. Nakita naman niya si Connor Andres na nakaupo lang sa gilid ng kama niya. He was caressing her hair. Napansin din niyang nakasuot na ito ng varsity uniform nito.
She groaned again. Why was he even here? Dapat ay wala na iyon dito sa bahay nila dahil required lahat ng varsity players na umattend sa opening ceremony sa University Week nila.
"W-What are you doing here..." Hirap na sabi niya. Masakit talaga igalaw ang katawan niya, "You should be gone already..." She closed her eyes again.
Connor Andres just shrugged, "You're here so I can't go," He answered dryly as he continued caressing her hair, "I prepared your medicines and your breakfast. You should take it and eat."
"I can't..." She complained helplessly, "My arms and legs are painful to move."
"Do you want me to bring you to the hospital?" Somehow, his voice seemed worried.
"N-No," She quickly answered. Kapag nalaman ng parents niya na nasa ospital siya, she'll damn know that Connor Andres will be in trouble again. She could even still remember how her Dad hates Connor for impregnating her - at kung malalaman nitong nasa ospital siya, he'll blame him for not taking good care of her. She already had enough drama for the mess they made, "I'm just going to be fine here."
