"Mama, bakit nandito pa rin siya?"
Huminga naman ng malalim si Maddison at yumuko para kausapin ang anak na si Andres Emilio. Nasa labas na kasi ng bahay nila sina Connor Andres at Collin Maddox at hinihintay na lang si Lio sa kotse. Si Connor na kasi ang laging naghahatid-sundo ng mga bata sa school. It was his way to get back with the twins for the years he was away with them.
"Lio..." She looked at her son's eyes. Sa dalawa, Lio really resembles his father physical appearance - pero ito pa ang ayaw makasama si Connor unlike his other brother, Cole, "Please... try to understand your father. He's trying his best para lang makabawi sa inyong dalawa ni Cole. He may be away from both of you for a long time... but he loves you just the way I love you and your brother. Don't be too hard on him."
Last night, after the talk the she had with her baby daddy, hindi siya nito muling kinausap pa. Kaninang umaga rin ay hindi na rin siya nito kinukulit (na madalas na gawin nito sa kanya noon) at ang tanging ang mga anak lang nilang dalawa ang pinagtutuunan nito ng pansin.
She didn't really know what to feel about it. Ni hindi nga niya inaasahan na mag-uusap sila ng ganoon. Last night, Connor looked defeated and seemed to already surrender from everything. He looked like he was blaming her why their family fell apart. And somehow, she felt ashamed.
Maybe because it was partly true.
She was the one who forced him to accept the offer and he did... but she just wanted that Connor would not give up all the things he worked hard for just for them... for her.
"Mama, nandito lang naman kasi siya dahil injured siya. Tapos... babalik ulit siya sa Amerika tapos magkakaroon na siya ng ibang pamilya. We won't be his priority anymore... Kakalimutan na niya kami." Lio replied, pouting. Maddie just smiled and cupped the cheek of her son. She then gave Lio a warm kiss on his forehead.
"Anak, kahit pa magkaroon ng ibang pamilya ang Papa niyo, hindi niya kayo kakalimutan. You and Collin will still be his priority. Both of you are his firstborn. He will still love you even though he'll have his own family in the future." She told him softly and she's really sure of it. Connor may act an immature man but he's the kindest and most loving man she ever met.
"I like David more..."
"Lio," Maddie suddenly sounded serious, "Remember when you accepted David as your Mom's new boyfriend, you gave him a chance... Please give your Papa a chance as well. He's trying his best."
Sumimangot naman ito.
"You gave Uncle Daddy a chance. Give your Papa a chance too."
Bigla naman itong bumuntong-hininga at tumango, "Okay."
Maddison Grace smiled and hugged her son, "Thank you, anak. Give your Dad a chance, okay?"
Humiwalay naman ito sa kanya at tumango ulit. Maddie giggled as Lio gave him a kiss on her cheek. Lio then ran and waved at her before going to Connor's car. Ilang minuto naman ay tuluyan na ngang nakaalis ang mag-aama.
