"And suddenly you know... it's time to start something new and trust the magic of beginnings."
♱ ♱ ♱I can't remember the last time that I have woken up to the smell of breakfast being made in the morning. Not since my before my parents passed, which I was just a little girl. My mother always told me the greater your storm, the brighter the rainbow. I see Alaric as that rainbow. I spent my life in group home to group home. I felt completely empty since my parents died. I was a troubled scared little girl until one day for whatever reason; I was chosen. Chosen to protect those from the vampires, demons, and evil that inhabit our world.
Alaric saved me; he's tried to train me properly. You can have all the strength in the world, but if you can't properly use it, it means nothing. There have been many slayers before me. Those who haven't lived past their early twenties. I will be different than the others; I'll live.
"Smells good," I exclaim, closing my eyes breathing in the aroma of bacon.
"Yeah, I couldn't have you go off to your first day on an empty stomach." Alaric smiles and serves me a plate of food. I start to dig in and feel his eyes burn a hole through me.
"What?" I say with a mouthful, and he chuckles.
"You don't seem so excited." He points out, and I continue to devour my food.
"That's because I'm not." I raise my eyebrows.
"Does it have to do with the complete isolation a slayer must be in? You're really following the rules?" He says, and I ignore him and continue to eat. "You know, not everyone around you is going to get hurt. If anything, people will be safe around you." He says, and I give him a soft smile.
"I'm going to get ready." I awkwardly say placing my hair behind my ear. I turn toward the stairwell, and Alaric stops me in place.
"Wait, here." He says handing me car keys. "A teenage girl should be able to drive her own car right?" He says, and a smile grows on my face.
"Oh my god, seriously?" I shriek, and he nods. I jump up to hug him in excitement. There goes my rainbow again. "Thank you thank you thank you!"
"Okay, okay now go get ready for school, can't be late on your first day." He chuckles, and I sped to my bedroom. A bedroom I've always dreamt of having for as long as I could remember. I pick out an outfit and head toward my new car.
I turn on some music and feel the huge grin on my face being behind the wheel. I sing along to the music and look around Mystic Falls. It is such a beautiful town, and the scenery is definitely worth being drawn. I look away, and my heart drops when something hits the car with force causing me to press hard on the brakes. My heart sinks, and I look at my windshield seeing a crow get up and fly off. I calm myself down and continue to drive to school.
Alaric's going to kill me; I think seeing the damage the crow did to the car.
I walk in the high school and catch a few eyes glued to me as I made my way to the office. I patiently wait for my schedule and locker information and head out the office with my eyes fixated to my schedule. As soon as I step foot out the office, I bump into a broad chest, causing me to drop my books and bag.
