"I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong." - audrey hepburn

I have left Stefan countless messages, and he still has yet to reach me. A simple 'I didn't kill my brother' would have suffixed and yet somehow I hoped he didn't go through with it. Bonnie has been distant, and I hoped today she would fill me in with everything that's been going on with her besides the fact that she and Caroline aren't meeting eye to eye at the moment.

I walk into history class and take a seat near Bonnie. I look over to her and mouth, 'Are you okay?' and she just shrugs.

"Good Morning everyone. Alrighty." My head whips when I hear the familiar voice. Alaric writes his name on the chalkboard. "Alaric Saltzman. It's a mouthful, I know. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. Saltzman is of German origins. My family emigrated here in 1755 to Texas. I, however, was born and raised in Boston. Now the name Alaric belongs to a very dead great-grandfather I will never be able to thank enough. You'll probably want to pronounce "Alaric," but it's "Alaric," okay? So, you can call me Rick. I'm your new history teacher." He rambles, and I glare at him.

'What the hell?!' I mouth to him, and he just gives me a sly smirk.

Class ends, and I walk over to Alaric's desk for answers. "So you're my new history teacher?" I ask, and he laughs.

"Yeah, cool right? I haven't been around so this job can make up for that. You will see me twice as much." He smiles, and I scoff.

"Whatever, will you be home tonight? I'm thinking of having some friends over tonight." I ask hopefully.

"Not until late, think I'm going to catch up on some school work at the grill." I nod and start to head out the room before Alaric stops me, "Mik, no boys." He sternly says, and I roll my eyes.

I meet up with Bonnie after school, and she starts to tell me about her dreams. "And then, I ended up at the remains of the old Fell's church before I woke up back in the woods."

"And you always see your ancestor Emily?" I ask, intrigued by her current problems.

"Mhm. Do you believe in ghosts?" She asks, and I nod. "Because I think I'm being haunted," Bonnie adds.

"I don't get it. Why Emily?" I ask as we get in her car.

"Grams said she was a powerful witch back in the Civil War days, and that this medallion was hers. A witch's talisman." She bats her eyes away; she looked scared.

"And it all started when you got the necklace?" I point at it as it dangled from her neck.

"I think she's using it to communicate with me."

"Okay, what does Grams say about it?" I furrow my eyebrows, and she scoffs.

"I can't call her. She's gonna tell me to embrace it. I don't want to embrace it; I want it to stop." She pouts, and I place my hand on hers. "That's not all, in between my classes Damon was here wanting the necklace." She adds, and my eyes widen.
