Something isn't right

"Tom wake up". I shake him a bit harshly. "Babe you need to be on set in less than an hour, wake up.. you need to shower and eat".

He sits up shaking his head, looking rather confused. "What ? Why didn't you wake me earlier ? Why haven't my phone buzzed, it should have".

"Your phone did buzz and this is the third time I wake you. Are you sure you are okay ?" I am starting to worry. He seems so tired always. And it isn't the first time that I almost can't wake him.

He rubs his eyes and his neck. "I am fine Kitten. We are just working really hard right now. I am exhausted to be honest".

"Tom you were told to slow down and relax a bit". I sit down next to him, leaning my head on his shoulder. "Maybe you should talk to the doctor ?"

His arms slides around me, pulling me into his side. "If it makes you feel better.. but how is our little princess this morning ?"

"She is doing okay.. she was crying a bit, asking for her father". Unfortunately Athena has a bit of a hard time making new memories, they are calling it a small glitch in her brain, but luckily it should right itself due to her young age. So for now we just have to tell her the same things over and over. Like the fact that her father is dead. "She is playing with Zac now".

His hand gently cups my head, holding it close to him, and he kisses me on the hair. "I am so sorry you have to go through it again and again darling. Hopefully it will get better soon. If it doesn't I will get a better doctor for her".

"She will get better Tom, don't worry". I turn my head to kiss him softly. "Do you want me to call your doctor for an appointment ?"

He shakes his head getting up, heading for the bathroom. "No it's fine, I can call on my lunch break. Probably best I explain how I feel myself. Do you want to join me ?"

"No Tom, you need to get ready". I say shaking my head, he is impossible sometimes. "I'll go fix your breakfast".

To be honest I am happy she said no, not that I don't want to, but I feel so damned tired all the time. Yesterday I fell asleep in in my trailer and it took an production assistant 10 minutes to wake me up. I probably should call the doctor, but we are at the hardest point of the movie, I simply don't have the time to run to check ups.

I am probably just tired with the work schedule on top of everything that has happened. I can call the doctor maybe next week when it quiets down a bit.

Standing under the warm water I feel a twinge in my chest, like my heart skips a beat. It happens more and more often. Damn I better call the doctor next week. Maybe my medicine needs adjustment or something.

I get ready and dressed. Hurrying downstairs to get my breakfast. Eggs and fruit and a glass of juice. "Damn I miss bacon and coffee".

"Well keep missing them. We need to look out for your heart". Kitty says, kissing my cheek, before going to empty the dishwasher.

Athena comes running in, followed by a slightly limping Zac. She comes running right into my arms. Hugging her, knowing she is alive makes it all worth it. Being tired and not having coffee and everything else. "Morning Tom".

"Morning princess. Have you been playing with Zac ?" I ask her. Zac collapsing on the other chair, trying to grab a piece of apple from my plate, but I stab at his hand with my fork. "Get away from my food".

"Grumpy". He huffs, and get up to go get a cup of coffee, which I might be glaring at. He looks at the cup. "Oh.. well I get it.. you can be grumpy".

"Your date is tonight right ?" I ask him to change the subject. Internally cursing that I keep feeling worse when I do everything I was told, well almost.

He nods, a big smile spreading on his face. "Yup, finally she thinks I am healthy enough for a hot date and she has the evening of".

"Well good luck on your date.. and please go to her place for the hanky panky". I say, sending him a smile. Hugging Athena closer to me. I don't know why, but hugging her makes me feel better.

Zac rolls his eyes. "It's our first date and well I kind of like her, so there will be no hanky panky Tom. But thank you".

"Ohh so it is like that". I say grinning. "No you really deserve to find someone Zac, so I truly hope she turns out to be that someone".

Zac rubs his neck. "Well let's not get in over our head here. I mean it is our first date. I have seen her at the hospital and we have texted a bit. She might turn out to be totally crazy".

"But you don't think she is. I can see it Zac, you think she is something special". I say, watching how he kind of chuckles to himself, like he remember something funny.

He rubs his bottom lip between his thumb and forefinger. "I do.. she is funny and sweet. And she is so caring about others, she volunteer at the children's ward beside her job.. she is also very smart and loves singing and playing computer games".

"So she is basically a female version of you.. seems like a match made in heaven". I tell him before kissing the top of Athena's head and sitting her down. "I better get going or I will be late".

I go to kiss Kitty warmly, and she slowly rub her hands on my shoulders. "See you tonight love. I hope it isn't going to be to late".

"Remember to call the doctor okay ?" She say looking at me with so much love that I feel even more horrible for not having told her the truth. But I just wanted to spare her more worries.

"I will". I say on the way to grab my jacket. I will try to remember to do it. At least I don't have to lie to her. I just have to say that an appointment has to wait.
