"Remember Tom still has a lot of boobooes from getting a new heart, so don't jump on him or throw yourself into him, okay darling ?" I tell Athena as we get ready for her to see Tom for the first time. He is out of ICU and in fast recovery. They have told him that if he keeps it up he'll be home in a week.

She smiles up at me and nod. "I know mom, you said like a million-trillion times. I am very careful, promise".

"Good girl". I say and open the door, seeing Tom sitting up in the bed. He is talking with Zac and I am once again amazed how much better he already looks.

He lights up in the most amazing smile, holding out his arms. "There are my little princess and my most beautiful Queen".

"Daddy !" Athena squeal and sprint to him, but stopping half a metres from his arm. "Mom say I can hurt you, don't want that".

"Come here princess, it's okay, you won't hurt me". He tells her, spreading his arm wider, and she slowly walk into them. He folds his arms around her, lifting her up beside him on the bed. "Happy birthday princess".

She snuggles into him, smiling happily. "Thank you. Mommy got my a new pink bike, and a Rapunzel doll that can sing".

"Oh you are so lucky, I wanted one of those. So how old are you now ? Let me see, you must be 10 years old right ?" He says making her giggle.

She shakes her head at him. "Nooo you silly willy, I am four years old now, so next year I turn five and then I get to go to school".

"Really, only four ?" He say tickling her. "You know what princess ? I actually have a present for you too, or several, but some of them will have to wait a bit till I feel better, but I got one for you right here".

She looks around like she expects to see a big box. But Zac takes out his phone and makes a video call, handing it to Tom. Mandy Moore showing up on the screen. "See princess, Zac talked the real Rapunzel into calling us".

I watch with tears in my eyes, hugging Zac to the point where he makes strangled sounds. While I watch my little girl, first being all shy, but slowly opening up and talking happily with Mandy for almost fifteen minutes, before saying goodbye.

"So was that a good present ?" He ask Athena and she nods, smiling from ear to ear as she hugs him, telling him thank you three times. Then he asks. "Well maybe you want to give me a present now ?"

"A present ? But I don't have a present". She turns to look at me, a bit confused. "Mom do I have a present for Dad ?"

I walk closer, not really knowing what Tom is up to either. "What about we ask Tom, what kind of present it is he wants".

"Well it is not something you can wrap as a gift, but it is still the greatest gift of all". He says mysteriously. "Athena, my sweetest princess, will you allow me to be you father for real ? And to marry your mother ?"

She smiles and wrap her arms around his neck, kissing his check. "You are my daddy, and you know what I also think you should marry mommy".

"Then I better ask her right ?" He says, and Zac quickly picks up Athena. Tom grabs my hand in his and I am already fighting tears. His voice a bit raw with emotions. "I know we haven't been a couple that long, but we have know each other forever. You and Athena is my life, my heart. You are the rock I worship upon and the roots holding me down. You will always own my heart, both the old and the new. Will you be mine forever and allow me to become Athena's father too ?" 

I look at the beautiful ring he has in his free hand, it is made from rose gold, the band is kind of twisted, encrusted with small diamonds and topped with a pale pink heart shaped diamond. "Oh God Tom, it's so beautiful. Yes, yes of course I will".

"And you will let me adopt Athena as my own ?" He ask, biting his lip, his eyes shining with unshed tears. I am nodding, feeling the lump grow in my throat and the tears start to spill. My yes is more like a sob.

He pulls me into him, even though it has to hurt him. Gently stroking my back, telling me not to cry, only making me sob harder. "It's happy tears you know. It was just so beautiful and the ring is so perfect. You are perfect".

"No you are, without you I would be nothing". He say, his voice choking up, and I carefully rest my head on his shoulder.

*Tom*
I hear Athena happily clapping her hands and Zac making an ooh sound. Snuggling my face into Kitty's neck I whisper. "Thank you so much baby, you have made me the happiest man in the world".

"And you always makes me feel like the luckiest woman". She whispers back, pulling away a little to look into my eyes. "I love you with all of me".

I sniffle and bite my lip, to contain my feelings threatening to reduce me to a sobbing mess. "And I love you too, more than life itself".

"Actually I wanted to talk to you about something Tom". She say, playing with her hair, which tells me she is nervous. "I have put the house for sale, it just has to many bad memories".

This makes me smile, because it makes the next thing I got to say much easier. "Perfect.. because well, I own a piece of land just outside London and I would love to build a house there, for all of us, as my wedding gift to you".

"Yeah I wanna be an english lady". Athena yells, jumping up and down in Zac's arms, making us all laugh.

Kitty looks at me. "We would love to move there with you, as you see from little miss enthusiastic there. Actually I would move anywhere, if I just get to be with you".
