Chapter 4
"A New Friend"
We were walking along Route 1 looking for Pokemon. We decided, since Accumula Town as close, that at least one of us would catch a Pokemon before continuing. I was searching somewhere in the trees. It was strange though. We couldn't find a single Pokemon!
I was searching on the ground while Emolga was up in the trees. I kept thinking I see something out of the corner of my eye, but nothing is there when I look.
"Have you found anything, yet?" Travis called, looking for Pokemon on the path.
Both me and Sophia yelled a big nope, then went back to searching.
All of a sudden, I saw something blue out of the corner of my eye. I thought it was just a trick again, but when I looked it was still there. My sour mood immediately turned into sunshine inside me. I started sneaking as Emolga glided down to my shoulder. Very slowly and carefully, I stepped over sticks, leaves, and rocks to avoid making sound, every step making sure the blue was still there. I slowly got closer and closer.
I was standing on my tiptoes with on foot lifted ready to make another step when a giant gust of wind decided to blow me over. I stepped down quickly to keep balance, but into a small pile of crunchy leaves. I saw the blue spot twist a little, then start running into the darkness of the forest.
'Great' I thought with a mental sigh, but then quickly took after it. After all, this might be the only chance I get to find a Pokemon.
Emolga jumped off of my shoulder speedily and decided to glide as quick as possible from tree to tree keeping sight of it. I followed her to a dark clearing. I thought I had lost the blue dot, but I searched a little, and saw a little tan tail turning around a tree.
I quickly chased after it. I ran around the large, bent tree. Everything went dark immediately. I had the sensation of falling, mostly because that's what I was doing. I landed on my backside and let out a cry. When I opened my eyes I saw what looked like a tunnel about 15 feet deep. I stood up and looked up. I saw Emolga poke her head over the top.
"Emo?" she had a questioning look on her face.
"I'm okay!" Emolga gave a satisfied smile." Go find the others!" I yell.
She shook her head and started climbing down the tunnel, lactic hint on to roots here and there. After a little over a minute, she jumped and landed in my arms.
"You should have gone looking for Travis and Sophia," I scolded. I smile anyway. I knew Emolga wanted to protect me. She looked like it anyway.
I finally take a look around. There are wide caves down here. There were four caves. From above I might look like an X. They were all dark. I didn't know if I should go down one way, or stay here where there's at least a little light.
"What do you think we should do, Emolga?" I asked.
She looked around thoughtfully for a while. While she was looking around I heard a small yelp coming from one of the tunnels. Emolga must have heard it too because she looked the same way I did.
"Emo! Molga!" she pointed down the tunnel the yelp came from. I agreed and we started walking slowly down the dark tunnel. Emolga climbed up on my shoulder so I could have my arms free to feel the wall. I couldn't see a thing so we moved slowly and I kept banging into rocks with my knees. There were sharp rocks on the walls and I could feel my hands slightly bleeding.
After a while I started to hear trickling water. I felt Emolga jump a little. Then we heard another yelp, louder this time. We knew that the thing producing the yelp was nearby. We hurried a little and I scraped my hands a little more. In the distance we saw a light. It illuminated the rest of the tunnel so I didn't have to feel the wall anymore. We still walked slowly.
