hoping that her name will pop up
what if he lays awake all night
just like she does
wondering if they could be more
what if he's afraid
just as she is
of seeming too eager
too desperate
what if they are both too scared to
love
so they both sit and wait
but nothing comes
so eventually years go by
and they are only stuck with
what if's
