Well, it's 4 am from where I am and I've had a rough day, got into a fight with my you-know-who, so I decided to tune things out and watch some If Only, and then Grown Ups 2 early in the morning.

Yep, typical girl, here. 😉

Anyway, not yet sleepy, thinking about posting my next chapter since I got it stuck in my head right now. Cheerio!

Chapter 10

I was in a major embarrassing situation with someone I barely knew. What if he spread the news about me in this situation? Oh God, what am I gonna do when they ask me all those questions? Who knows what they'll think...

Ah, fuck it, nothing can go worse after the rain.

"Uh, Ren..."

I looked up at his dark brown eyes, wondering about his uneasiness. I never noticed his British accent until he emphasized my name with an unfamiliar tone. It made me feel all giddy inside.

"Um.. I think you shoud button up your coat..."

I looked down, still giddy about his accent for no apparent reason, and saw his already damp shirt, exposing his chest and full 6 pack, very VERY close to my damp cropped top. Damn it, next time, I buy a thick cropped top for situations like these.

I quickly pushed him away and buttoned up. He looked away and I was debating whether I should feel pleased that he's gentleman, or be slightly dissappointed because he couldn't take just a teeny little... Peak.

He cleared his throat, "Righty then, there's a store behind us, I'm sure they sell pants or such. There's also a little resto over there on the left. I'm guessing you're hungry so midnight snack's on me. We'll talk there."

I nodded and followed him. The part about talking, I wasn't really excited about. It didn't feel right talking about it now that it all just happened a couple of minutes ago. But, he deserved as much for his life-saving. Kinda.

We crossed the street and got to the store. Luckily, it was 24 hour and they DID sell jeans.

Fortunately, the cashier lady didn't ask any questions about my get-up and slightly messy hair and make-up. Huh, I guess after all the bad luck died out, good luck bloom again.

Devin just smiled at the lady when he handed over a pair of jeans, "Hey, you don't even know my size."

He met my eyes and smirked, "Judging from the big thighs and slim legs, I can tell you're a medium."

I reddened. Not only was I so pissed off that he judged me because my legs and thighs were bare, but the size was insanely and annoyingly true.

He faced back at the cashier lady and took out his wallet out of his pocket while I composed myself and walked up to them. I almost gawked at the amount of money he had inside his wallet, I didn't even know how he fitted all of that inside. Almost.

After the transaction was done, I took the pants and put them on.

He, of course, gave a remark for putting it on infront of him, "I'm amazed how you could put it on with out hopping from the size of your thighs and arse."

This time, I had it, "You are so lucky I need you right now or else I wouldn't miss a second before punching the living daylights out of you."

He leaned forward and bent to me, too close for my liking, "I'll just make sure you'll need me for a long time."

After that we headed to the little resto Devin was talking about. Lola's Eatery, was it?

The food tasted delish. But, it turned way bitter when he bringed up the topic after biting his own sandwich.

"So Ren, about a while ago..."

I shrugged, "I almost got raped and my ex MU got in cahoots with them. No big deal."

He was smart not to push the topic, "Yes, well I was in Miranda's party and I swear, she had nothing to do with it." Of course, he likes her. I mean, why wouldn't he be? She's sexy, smart, fierce. Besides, I'm not blaming her. I just hope I'm just jumping to conclusions this time.

"I saw you get in with those... People. You were passed out drunk." I turned pink on that last line. So embarrassing.

"So I followed you guys. I just knew something awful was about to happen. I tried calling the policemen but I just rushed after you and left my cell behind. My apologies." I brushed him off and smiled at him, "Don't worry about it. At least you came."

He, if I'm correct, blushed at my statement. He shifted on his seat and continued, "A-anyway, I really am considering beating his arse next Monday, the gentleman that I am," he finished with a wink.

I didn't know why, but I soon got comfortable with him. We started chatting about other things, getting to know him bit by bit.

Turns out, he was also a child without a father. Except, his mother was divorced and married another man. He was still in contact with his father through cellphones though. They talked from time to time. His father recently got sick with a case of dengue he got from the Philippines. He couldn't come over because of his studies. I actually caught a sniffle from him when he said that.

He was full bred, except he had a good time in England since he was 4 that he developed the accent, then moved here, to this town.

After what felt like just a few minutes, I check the time. It was 3 am and I was lost! "Hey, I don't suppose you know the way back to Miranda's house, right?"

He made a smug smile, "Are you kidding? I know this place like the palm of my hand! C'mon, I'll take you home."

I shook my head nicely, "That's really nice of you, but you've already done enough. I couldn't ask for more. Thank you though."

Suddenly, his turned all serious and concerned, "Ren, you just almost got raped. You're not going anywhere alone in the dark."

I sighed, "alright, show me the way."

We walked and talked some more. Turns out he loves rock music just as much as I do. Yes, finally, someone who appreciates it.

We reached my house and I was almost tempted to walk straight, since he didn't exactly know where it is so I can talk to him more. But, it's late. Awww...

"So, this is me," I said reluctantly.

His face lit up, "Oh really? My house is just a couple of lots away. I was gonna ask how on Earth you knew where I lived but that just seemed downright impossible, aye?."

I chuckled at his 'aye'. We've been chatting about it a while ago, making up different tone patterns to go with it.

"Aye. So I'll see you on Monday then?" I eyed him expectantly.

He smirked, "Not if I see you first, hun."

I hoped he didn't notice my blush in the dark, 'cause was turning into a bright, healthy tomato. I settled down when he laughed and punched his arm, "Jerk."

He caressed his arm, feigning hurt, "Aww, don't be too mad. Right then, see ya."

Before he left, I planted a good kiss on the cheek for him, "Thank you, for everything. I'll see you."

I then left a startled, red Devin and sneaked inside.
