My friend helped me with this chapter a bit. Hope you like it.
Katniss P.O.V.
I stand in font of the mirror with my shirt pulled up over my stomach. I can't believe how big I am already, but I guess that's expected since I'm carrying twins. I thought I was huge when I was carrying Rye, it was nothing compared to this.
One week over five months pregnant, and I don't know how much bigger I can get.
"Katniss?" Peeta says as he sits up on the bed. "Honey, what are you doing up?"
"It just couldn't sleep," I tell Peeta. He reaches over to turns the lamp on before giving me a knowing look.
"How long have you been sick?"
"Peeta..." He gives me a look that tells me not to argue, and I take a deep breath. "Since one-thirty."
Peeta looks over at the clock and frowns. "It's four now."
I shrug my shoulders and turn my attention back to the mirror. Peeta gets up off the bed and walks over to me, wrapping his arms around my middle.
"Kat, you need to tell the doctor at your next appointment," Peeta tells me. "This isn't normal."
I turn my head to look at Peeta in the mirror. "I'll call this afternoon and at least ask about it."
"Okay," Peeta says as he plants a kiss on my neck. "Why don't you come back to bed?"
"I won't be able to go back to sleep."
"At least lay back down," Peeta says.
I nod my head. "Alright." Peeta takes my hands and leads me back over to the bed. We lay down side by side, and Peeta wraps an arm around me.
"You should have woke me up," he says.
I shake my head. "You couldn't have done anything anyways."
"Still," Peeta tells me. "I don't want you to go through any of this alone." Peeta pulls my shirt back up over my belly and rubs a hand over the taut skin. "They're active tonight," Peeta laughs.
I smile at him. "I think they're both moving around in there."
Peeta gives me a look. "Can you tell when it's just one baby moving or if it's both?"
"I don't really know for sure," I tell him. "But sometimes the movements will feel a bit more... intense than normal. I just figured that's when they're both moving."
Peeta gives me a concerned look. "But it doesn't hurt?"
"No, Peeta," I laugh. "You ask me that all the time when I'm pregnant."
Peeta smiles at me. "I can't help it. I worry about you all the time, and even more so when you're pregnant with our babies."
I playfully roll my eyes. "Peeta, I'm fine. You don't have to worry about me."
"Katniss, that's the same thing as telling you not to worry about the kids."
"That's different," I say.
"How?" Peeta asks me.
"Because I'm their Mommy. It's my job to worry about them."
Peeta smiles at me. "And I'm your husband. It's my job to worry about you."
"It's still different."
"Alright. Fine. You think what you want to."
I shake my head at him. "Let's go to sleep now."
