Lost

Chapter 1

Authors note: I really love soul eater, but I do not own it. I only own the plot of this story, not its characters. ( if I did, Kid would be with maka...)

Chapter 1:

¨ SOUL!¨ I yelled out as a sudden blast thru soul out of my hands. ¨MAKA!¨ Soul yelled, ¨LOOK OUT!¨ As his warning reached my ears, another blast hit a tree besides me. I looked around frantically, trying to pinpoint where the blast came from. I saw Blackstar and tsubaki a few meters away to my right, trying to find the source of the blast themselves. Kid, Patty, and Liz were to my left. As I looked over, I met Kid's worried gaze. Before I could tell him I was fine, another blast came towards me. ¨MAKA!¨ everyone yelled, but it was to late. The blast had hit, full force, right in my stomach. I flew backwards, and hit a tree, before falling to the ground. I heard footsteps approach me, flowed by yelling, and the sound of evil laughter. I saw Kid kneel besides me, his mouth moved, but I heard nothing. Suddenly everything began to fade. Soul ran up to us, panic on his face, I smiled at him, and then everything went black.

It was a normal day at the DWMA. Soul had slept through most of class, earning him detention from professor stein. Blackstar joined him, as usual, because of his disruptive yelling. Tsubaki and I both sweat dropped. Patty and Liz both got detention as well. Liz was painting her nails, as Patty made yet another giraffe out of her worksheets. So, after school, I walked to the DWMA library to pass the time till Soul gets out of detention. I had invited Tsubaki, but she said she had to do some groceries. So I was alone today.

I went to the 8th floor, my favorite one. It had books on different history subjects, that I found so interesting. I browsed through rows and rows of books, until I had a large pile of about 10 books. I was making my way to the reading lounge, when I ran into something and dropped all of my books. ¨Ugh¨, I heard a grunt from in front of me, then I realized I had ran into SOMEONE, not something! That someone, was none other than Death the Kid. ¨OH! Kid, im so sorry! I could not see where I was going!¨ Kid just laughed, from his position on the floor across from me. ¨ It's no problem Maka! I was not paying attention, either.... Here, let me help you pick up all these books.¨ I nodded in thanks, and with that we started to pick up all the books.

Suddenly, kid stopped when he reached a certain book. ¨You like this book?¨ he asked. He held a copy of ¨ The History of the Shinigami¨. I blushed, ¨Ya, I've read it before, but I thought it was so interesting.¨ Kid and I had gotten closer since the battle with Asura. We often went to the public library, and the cafe together. I truly admired Kid, he was smart, and an excellent fighter. And the fact that he was quite attractive was just a bonus.

¨ You know, if you wanted to learn about Shinigami, you could have asked me.¨ I answered back, ¨I know, but since we were becoming closer friends, I wanted to know more about the Death family. So, i don't know, I could understand you better. I should have talked to you, but I wanted to do it by myself...¨ Kid just laughed. ¨ You never cease to amaze me. Just the fact that you read his to better understand me, it means alot.¨ I smiled, and gave him a hug.

Once we finished picking up our books, we headed to the lounge. ¨You know kid, I do still have some questions about Shinigami, do you think you could answer them?¨ Kid smiled, ¨Of course.¨ With that we sat down and I began to ask questions.

After about 2 hours, I looked at the clock. ¨Well, I have to go. Soul will be out of detention in about 10 minutes.¨ Kid nodded, ¨I have to meet Liz and Patty there anyway, I'll come too.¨ I smiled at the thought of Kid coming with me.

¨WAIT.¨ I thought, ¨WHY DO I CARE! IT'S NOT LIKE I LIKE KID..... right?¨ Kid rose, and began to walk to the stairs, he turned back. ¨Are you coming?¨ I jumped up, ¨Right, of course!¨ We walked to detention together, to gather our weapons. We were met outside the room, by professor Stein. ¨There you two are. Lord Death wants to speak to you in the Death room. Your weapons, as well as Tsubaki and Blackstar are already there.¨ We nodded and began to walk toward the Death room. Suddenly, Kid stopped in his tracks.

¨Hey, Maka. I know I never do this, but... lets race.¨ I looked at Kid with shock. He never did this kind of thing, like EVER. I smiled at this sudden change. ¨Let's do it.¨ He smiled back at me, ¨One, Two, Three!¨ With that we took off.
