Chapter 4

Authors note: Quick note to everyone reading, THANK YOU! My computer glitched and I acidently published this like 3 times, my bad my dudes....

Soul and I entered the airport, at exactly 7. The flight is supposed to take off in 1 hour, but we all agreed to meet up together at 7. Much to Kid's displeasure. ¨Soul, do you see the others?¨ Right before soul could speak. We heard a loud crash followed by ¨I am the almighty blackstar!¨ Soul and I gave each other a look , ¨found them¨ we both said.

We walked towards the noise, only to find blackstar standing on a table, with Tsubaki trying to calm him down. Patty was laughing her head off, as Liz tried to calm her down. Kid just stood there, until... ¨BLACKSTAR! GET DOWN BEFORE YOU RUIN THE SYMMETRY OF THAT TABLE!!!¨

Everyone stopped to look at Kid, I began to laugh. Causing everyone to notice our presence. Kid turned around, and blushed.Stein and Spirit came up behind us. Stein then said, ¨If we're done here, we have a plane to catch.¨ Everyone followed him to security. Kid and I stayed in the back,

¨I'm sorry I laughed,¨ I began. But before I could continue, Kid cut in. ¨Please, don't apologize. I'm honestly glad I could bring a smile to your face.¨ He smiled. I blushed so hard, I thought I was gonna explode. We all boarded the plane, and got ready for the flight ahead.

---------------------------- After the Plain lands--------------------------

I was so glad to be done with the flight. To avoid having to be to close to my dad, I sat besides Kid. We spoke about anything and everything for about 3 hours, until I fell asleep. I woke up to Kid's gentle shaking.

We were now off of the plain, in a rental Jeep. Stein put papa to drive, so he was distracted enough to leave me alone. Stein turned to us in the back, ¨ Alright, we want to get started on hunting the witch right away. So, once we get to camp, grab the things you need, and change into more appropriate clothes.¨ I looked around, to see that all of us were in loose fitting clothes, and comfy shoes. Not exactly appropriate for witch hunting. ¨I trust you packed clothes that were not your usual ones. You will need jungle attire.¨ Once everyone nodded, he began again, ¨Meet me in the middle of camp as soon as you are ready.¨

As he finished, we pulled up to camp. Everyone got out and went to their cabins. Girls in one, Boys in the other. I set down my luggage, a duffle bag and a hiking backpack, on my bed. As did the others. We all pulled out some clothes and changed as quickly as possible. Tubaki wore her hair up, with a blue t-shirt and shorts. Liz and patty had matching outfits, planned by kid, of red shirts with black shorts. I wore my forest green tank top, with my own shorts. My hair in a french braid, courtesy of Tubaki. We all grabbed our bags to take with us, and left the cabin.

The boys were already outside. So, once we got outside, the weapons transformed, and we headed out to start the search.

-------------------Kid POV-----------------

Maka, look amazing. And so symmetrical too! I caught myself staring as she came out. I saw soul from the corner of my eye, glaring at me. I quickly stopped staring, and got serious. This seemed to please soul, as he stopped the glaring.

Our weapons transformed, and we began to search. Everyone was on edge, I could feel the worry emanating from everyone's souls. By now, everyone realized that the witch would be after Maka. Which caused even more worry.

After hours of searching, the sun began to set, and everyone began to calm down. We headed back to camp, to get some sleep before heading out again tomorrow. Stein decided it would be best to have us all alternate nights and watch the camp. He and Spirit took that nights shift. Everyone else had gone to bed, but I noticed Maka was standing on the outskirts of camp, by herself. I walked over to her, to check if everything was ok.

As I came up behind her, I heard something. Sobs. I panicked, and went up to Maka. ¨Hey, are you ok?¨ I asked as tenderly as I could. She began to nod her head yes, but then she broke down again. ¨No. Kid, im so sorry. Everyone is so worried, and I know it's because of me, because of my mom. Im putting everyone at such a great risk. I can't see anyone get hurt. I can't see you get hurt.¨

As she finished, I engulfed her in a hug. ¨ Maka, it's not your fault. Its ok. Were all here, because we choose to be, knowing the risk. And as far as I go, dont worry. I'm here, because I can't see you get hurt.¨ She looked up at me with red rimmed eyes.

¨It's late, we should head to bed. I'll see you tomorrow, thanks Kid.¨ ¨Anytime Maka.¨ We went our separate ways, and I entered the boys cabin. Soul and Blackstar were asleep, so I decided to turn in as well. Just as I was about to fall asleep, I heard Soul's voice. ¨Kid, it's time we spoke.¨ I sat up and looked at Soul sitting in his bed across from me. I nodded for him to continue.

¨I know you like Maka. But, she is like my little sister. I care about her like family. If you ever hurt her i will personally kill you. Also, you have to swear to me something. Swear to me, that you will always protect her. I might not be able to someday, and I need to know that you will.¨

I nodded. ¨Of course. I will always protect her, and care for her. I would never hurt Maka¨ Soul looked satisfied, and went to sleep. I followed is lead and fell into a deep sleep, last thought being of Maka.
