Chapter 6:

¨Maka, no one is there...¨ Blackstar said. ¨What do you mean? She is right there!¨ I exclaimed. Kid and Blackstar looked at each other, Kid spoke this time. ¨ We don't see anyone Maka.¨ Soul appeared in the scythe, ¨Maka, nobody's there.¨I looked back to the strange woman, ¨Why can't they see you?¨ I asked her, as I stepped forward. Setting soul on the ground. I heard some protests from my friends, but ignored them.

¨I don't want them to see me. So I choose only to appear before you. I felt you should see the face of the witch who is going to kill you.¨ she said with a wicked smile. I stopped in my tracks. ¨Dont worry dear, I wont kill you know. There is no fun in that. I want you to suffer, and I want that little reaper boy to see you get killed.¨ I was about to ask why Kid when she said, ¨I can feel it in his soul, he loves you. You love him. So, what better way to get my revenge on your precious mother?¨ She began to laugh.

I tensed. ¨Now, I want you to rembermy name, for when I do kill you.¨ she disappeared, and suddenly appeared right in front of me. She grabbed me by my neck, and held me off the ground. ¨My name, is Eris. Remember that.¨ With that, she dropped me to the ground, where I fell gasping for air.

¨Now, to make sure Stein does not interfere.¨ she said, as she walked forward. She chanted , and suddenly, a wall of flames shot up. Effectively blocking us from Stein and papa, as well as camp. ¨NO!¨ I cried. She simply looked at me, before saying. ¨You look just like your mother.¨

She disappeared, but the wall of flames remained. I looked over to see Kid, Liz, Patty, Soul, Blackstar, and Tsubaki al staring at me and the wall. Suddenly Kid and Soul rushed forward. Kid began, ¨Are you ok? You were talking to yourself, then you suddenly were picked up off the ground! Then as the wall went up you shouted, and we all heard a voice say ¨You look just like your mother¨.¨

Soul, just looked at me with worry. ¨Im fine. That was the witch you heard. She used an enchantment so only I could see her. She wants to kill me, more than that, the wants to see me suffer and die slowly and painfully. This was all part of her plan, to separate us from Stein and papa so she could attack us easier. So, she could tell me the name of the witch that wanted to kill me.¨ I paused for a moment, ¨Her name is Eris.¨

Soul enveloped me in a hug. ¨We will not let her hurt you,, understand? We are all here to fight, and that's exactly what we are going to do.¨ I nodded. Suddenly, Liz spoke, ¨We have to set up camp, it's almost dark. Not to mention, we have o get the wound cleaned, Maka.¨ She said with worry in her voice. Everyone else nodded, and began to set up a makeshift camp.

Soul and Kid helped me up, and we walked towards the others. I spoke again, ¨What wound?¨ Kid looked at me, ¨Pardon?¨ ¨Liz said, I had a wound, but I don't feel anything.¨ Kid looked at Soul with a shocked look. Soul explained, ¨Maka, when you were picked up off the ground, the witch cut you neck. It's still bleeding.¨

I Stopped, and put my hand on my neck. Sure enough, as I looked at my hand it was covered in blood. A sudden bolt of pain spread throughout my body, causing me to fall. Luckily Kid caught me, ¨She must not have felt it because of the adrenaline, now that its worn off...¨ Soul nodded. Kid said again, ¨She is in no condition to walk, were almost where the others are setting up camp. So, i'll just carry her.¨ He picked me up bridal style, and with in 5 minutes we were in camp.

Tsubaki and Liz tended to my wound, as the others went through the bags everyone brought, in order to see what supplize we had. In all, we had about 1 weeks worth of food, a firestarter, a pot to boil water, and a knife.

We started a fire, had a light dinner, and made a plan for the next day. I had volunteered to be look out, when Kid said that I needed to rest, so my wounds would heal. He then decided to be look out. When everyone agreed we went to sleep. I had another nightmare, and woke up to Kid shaking me awake. He smiled at me, ¨ another nightmare?¨ I nodded, while shaking. He sat down besides me, and I put my head on his shoulder. He stayed with me until I fell asleep. I did not have another nightmare for the rest of that night.
