I smiled as I looked at Maka. We've been hanging out a lot lately, and I've realized that I really like Maka. Like, like like. She's strong, smart, independent, thoughtful, and beautiful. Since We started hanging out, I've also really loosened up. Of course, Liz has noticed and is starting to get suspicious.

As, we rounded the corner, my thoughts came to a stop. We both put on a burst of speed, to reach the Death room before the other. I of course, won. But only by a hair. I turned to see Maka panting, out of breath ¨well.... That... was.... Fun....¨ I laughed, ¨Ya... it was...¨ We both stood there for a second, before catching our breath and entering the Death room.

¨Hiya! Hi! Whats up?!?¨ I heard in my father's cheery voice. ¨Good evening father.¨ ¨Hi Lord Death!¨ We both greated. I saw my weapons standing with everyone else, an accusing look on their faces. I was never gonna hear the end of this one. I walked up to them, and Maka walked up to soul, who was right besides Blackstar.

Father moved to where he was in front of the whole group. ¨ Now that everyone is here, I have a mission for all of you.¨ Everyone perked up. We have not had a mission since the defeat of the Kishin, which was about 2 months ago. ¨I want you all to go the Amazon Rainforest, in order to find and destroy a very powerful witch that resides there. Now, I will be sending Stein and Spirit with you all. For this witch is a very old and strong one. She has been around for 1,000 years, and has always found some way to survive. The last Meister to harm her, did so in a way that she was extremely weakened. So much so, we all though her dead. In fact, that meister was your mother Maka.¨

Everyone looked at Maka, only to find her awestruck in herself. Father continued, ¨ We need this witch destroyed once and for all. I trust you all can handle this. You leave tomorrow, at 8 A.M. Dismissed. ¨

Everyone began to leave, Maka becoming bombarded with questions. She looked overwhelmed, I knew her mom was a sensitive subject to her. Just as I was about to yell for everyone to leave her alone, father called after me. ¨Kid, can you actually stay for a moment?¨ I looked back at Maka, wanting more than anything to help her. But, I turned to my father. ¨Yes? What's wrong?¨

Father looked at me, very serious, which already told me this was gonna be bad. ¨Kid, I need you to watch after Maka. This witch holds a great grudge again her mother, and she will no doubt try and kill her for revenge.¨ I felt my blood run cold, there was no way in hell that I would ever let that happen. Before I could respond, father continued. ¨I know you love her, and we both know that once a reaper loves someone they will protect that person till their last breath. That is why i'm telling you this. I care about maka, like family, please watch after her son.¨

I was shocked, how did father know? I ignored that fact for now, and responded, ¨ Of course father, thank you for telling me.¨ He nodded and bid me goodbye. Everyone had already went home in order to pack, so as he walked to Gallow Manor, one thing was on his mind. ¨I will always protect Maka.¨
