chapter twenty five

Lucy pov

The weeks went by fast and as soon as I knew it, the dance was today.

And it was the day I was going to ask Toby out officially.

I was at home after school getting ready for the dance.

I wore my white dress with the black belt.

I combed my hair and then waited for Toby to come.

When I went downstairs my mom held a video camera.

"My daughter's first dance. Are you going with that Toby kid?" she asked.

"Um sure but mom, please turn it o-" ding dong. I heard.

My mom rushed to the door and started video taping Toby.

"Come on Toby. She's inside." she said as she left the room but still video tapped us.

"Ready to go?" he asked.

"Yeah and Jeff and BEN are waiting for us outside so they can give us a ride." he says. I nod.

"Lets go then." I say.

"Yeah." he says. We leave my house and we met BEN and Jeff outside in a car. In the drivers seat is this guy.

We hop in the car and we drive silently.

When we get there, the lights in the school are going everywhere like a party.

"Woah." I say as I get out of the car.

"Yeah its awesome." Toby says.

"Hey, lets go inside." BEN says while grabbing my hand and running off with me.

"Don't worry. Ill be back!" I yell to Toby as hes far away from me.

Me and BEN go in and we start dancing to the dubstep music. The dj is a girl with sharp teeth and no eyes.

Me and BEN dance for a couple of minutes until I noticed Toby standing talking to Jeff and drinking something.

"Im going to dance with Toby." I say as I stop dancing.

"Cool but he might blush when you dance with him." BEN said.

"Why?" I ask.

"Because he likes you." Ben says.

He likes me back. Yes.

"Well ok." I say as I walked over to Toby. I can see Clockwork in the corner of my eye.

Then the song shifts to a slow song once im in front of Toby.

"Hey Toby, want to dance?" I ask.

"Yeah." he answers and Jeff walks away.

We start slow dancing until the middle of the song.

"Toby, I think I like you." I say as we continue dancing.

"Me too. So when did you start?" he asks.

"When the dance got cancelled." I say.

"Well, should we try for that kiss?" he asks.

"Yeah we lean in but once we get close someone speaks into the microphone.

"Hey guys. Today I think we shouldn't have a dance queen because nobody even cared to bother voting." some girl said. It was Clockwork.

"So lets hear a speech from the one girl with the white dress over there." she says and a light flashes on me.

I smirk and walk up to the stage. I get my mind set for the plan.

I take the microphone and start talking.

"Honestly I have nothing to say. But one thing. This night had proven me that theres more at this school than mean girls. Cough cough Clockwork but the fact the matter is just we are young and." then I heard a bucket drop and then I lift my hand even though it wasnt part of the plan.

I heard a gasp in the crowd and a rainbow color of paint was over my head.

"Well looks like I can do telekinesis and now that I have this pile of paint, I think we can have dome fun with it." I say and move all the paint into a ball. I then let go and paint dropped as rain and the crowd cheered.

Then Clockwork came up to me.

"You ruined my plan and now im going to get you." she charged at me but I stopped her with my mind.

"Clockwork, you can't do anything. Oh and this isnt over." I say and I jump into the crowd. Toby waits for me and we hold hands.

"Wow a different plan. At least you got rid of just jumping out of the way as a plan." he says.

"So lets try that kiss one more time." I say. We lean in close and my night ends with a soft kiss. But I know this isnt over.
