chapter forty

Lucy pov

I exited the hospital with Ben by my side with Clockwork and my mom later that week.

Nobody's heard from Jeff or Jessica but we didnt care. We got to keep Toby though as a souvenir for our battle.

Our first battle. We do have a feeling that they're going to be back.

We drive in my moms car and we get dropped off at Clockworks house to check Toby out.

"Bye mom. Ill call you later." I say.

"Bye Lucy." she drives off and we follow Clockwork to her basement where Toby is duck taped on the mouth and is tied up to a chair.

I rush to him and yank off the tape.

"You guys cant do that." I say.

"He wouldn't stop talking about Jessica." Clockwork says.

"Well then." I say.

"Leave me alone." Toby says.

"Toby, its me. Lucy remember me?" I ask.

"No the only girl I remember is Jessica. Now let me go!" he yells.

"We cant. Toby, you were one of us and you actually were cool until you turned evil and tried to kill me." I said.

I started getting teary eyed.

"Um are you Jessica because I love her and you are beautiful." he says which doesnt make sense.

"Unbelievable." I mutter to myself.

"Uh..." Toby says.

"Lucy, untie Toby. Ben knock him out again." Clockwork says. We do what she says and we follow her down the street.

While there Ben sung a song.

"Do you want to hide a body." (melody to do you want to build a snowman)

We all laughed until we reached this house that looked spooky.

"She might be able to help Toby." Clockwork says. We follow her into the house carrying Toby.

We sit him down.

"Casey! We have someone." Clockwork shouts. Then some little girl comes out and looks regular but her voice is raspy.

"Lie him down on his back." she said. We do so and Toby opens his eyes.

"Hey?" he said uncertain. Then Casey flicked her hand and he fell back asleep.

"It looks like his under a love spell." she says.

She walks over to Toby and bends down to touch his heart. Red smoke came up and went to Caseys arm.

Then it created a smoke bomb and air blasted us.

"Lucy! Are you ok?" Ben asks worried.

"Cough cough yeah im fine." I say.

I get up and walk to Toby.

He opens his eyes and shoots up and hugs me.

"Im so sorry for what i did." he says hugging me and crying. I cry back.

"Its ok Toby. Its all ok." I say.

We let go and stood up. Toby apologized to everyone and we left.

The rest of the year turned out all right.

I messed up on the ending sentence because idk anyways this is the end of the book. thanks for all my reads and for the votes and comments. i never thought the reads would be this high and thanks. but dont worry there is a sequel so i will keep u posted on that. bye guys
