FIRST DAY
"Harley! Time to get up sweetie!" I heard Monica yell from the kitchen. My tired eyes opened slowly and looked around my bedroom as if I was in some kind of dream. I heard a groan come from the floor as my eyes shifted towards the noise. I sat up slowly before noticing Ponyboy curled up in a ball on the floor, asleep. I rolled my eyes at the fact that he had slept on the floor. He must've been cold.
"Pony," I whispered. I received no response. I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him, "Pony!" I whispered again. He jumps, becoming spooked at the pillow that fell on top of him.
"Hmm-wha," he lifts his head up tiredly and looks at me. "Oh-" he sits up and stretched out his arms. I giggled before pushed the warm blankets off of my body, allowing goose bumps to engulf my pale skin.
"Good morning, sleepy head!" I stretched across my bed to greet him.
"Mornin' Har," he smiled. his voice was raspy from just waking up. I smiled as I gave him a kiss on the forehead.
"C'mon, lets go get breakfast," I could smell the delectable pancakes being made along with crispy pieces of bacon. My mouth began to water. Pony rubbed the tiredness from his eyes before becoming anxious.
"I didn't tell Dar-" I cut him off.
"I'll take care of it, Pone," I got up out of bed. The bottoms of my feet met the cold floor with tip toes. "He'll understand," I nodded as I put socks on my feet.
He nodded as he ran his hands through his hair before standing up. "I'm guessing today's your first day back?" I looked ahead of me as if I didn't hear the sentence. I nodded slowly. He took a deep breath before walking over to me. "I'll be right beside you all day," I looked up at him and he planted a kiss on my lips. I smiled. "Now c'mon, I'm getting hungry," he chuckled.
We walked downstairs together and into the kitchen. Monica and Ned greeted us both with a smile, "good morning, kids!" Ned shot Pony a look. It was a look that said, 'nice to see you again, son.' He went over and shook his hand as they both began to talk to one another. I went over to Monica who was making the delicious breakfast.
"This smells delicious," I say eyeing up the pancakes in the pan.
She smiled, "how're you this morning, dear?" I shrugged.
"Better," a small smile formed across my lips.
She nodded happily, "Good." She looked up at Pony before whispering to me, "I'm gonna give him cloths to wear to school today." My eyes widened as I shook my head.
"Monica, he won't accept you giving him cloths. They're too expensive."
"No, no. He deserves it. Besides, no ones gonna wear them anyways," she sighed at the thought of Bob. I nodded sadly, understanding what she meant. I gave her a hug at her side, thanking her for all she had done for me.
