it hurts | Chapter 14

After a few days Mike can come back home again. Ted has calmed down enough but he is not happy about it and Will is scared. What if he hurts Mike again.

They are back at school again and will has a strange feeling in his belly every day. People are whispering about them and they are giving them dusguisted looks but the bullies has been quiet, way too quiet.

Lucas and max is still a bit confused about the whole situation but they are also very supportive just like dustin. Dustin is so happy that they finally had admitted their feelings for eachother. He told them that he have known since forever.

But something feels wrong. Will thought there would be more comments, he thought people would scream awful things when he and Mike walked down the corridors but everyone stays quiet.

Until that day.

Will and Mike are standing close to eachother in the hallway. They are talking with Dustin, Lucas and Max. Will looks at Mike and he feels so happy. He just wants to kiss his boyfriend but he doesn't. He knows that it would just cause them problems. Mike is talking about something with Max but will can't listen. He is busy with staring at Mike. The most beautiful boy in this world.

(Later that day)

The two boys are standing in the old bathroom in the school. No one ever comes here. Will and Mike always comes here when they want to kiss eachother or just talk about things in private.
" i hate this school" Mike says and sighs.
" me too" will says and looks down on the dirty floor.
" you know that sometimes i just want to kiss you in front of the bullies again. It felt so good to do that the day on the dance" Mike says and laughs a bit.
Will looks up at him.
" i know, me too. I love..."
Will can't finish his sentence because a group of 5 boys opens the door.
Will feels the panic rise.
" is this where the fags hide" a tall boy with brown hair says and spits at the ground.
Will feels frozen. He can't move.
" shut the hell up" Mike says with a loud voice.
" you shouldn't have said that frog face" another boy says and laughs.

In just a few minutes all of the five boys are standing in front of Mike.
" ge..get...get away from him" will says but it more sounds like a whisper.
They just ignore will.
One of the boys punches Mike in the stomach and the other one kicks him on his left leg.
Will feels tears building up in his eyes and he has never been this scared.
When a blonde boy punches Mike in the eye will can't handle it. He starts to scream.
" please stop, please stop hurting him. I'll do anything." Will screams so loud.

He tries to stop the boys but they are thousand times stronger than him and they just pushes him away. The boys keep hitting Mike and will can't do anything. He feels so weak. The only thing he can do is watching them destroy Mike.

After about 2 minutes that feels like 2 hours all of the five boys stops. Mike is laying on the floor and he is bleeding.
" you two fags will brun in hell" a boy screams and then all of them just walks out of the bathroom.

Tears are streaming down from wills cheeks while he is screaming.
" mike, mike please wake up"
Mike is just laying there.
Will is in so much panic that he almost can't breathe. He don't know what to do.
" will" Mike whispers.
" i'm here Mike, everything is going to be alright" will sobs. But is it? Is everything going to be alright? He is not very sure anymore.
" it hurts" Mike says and he is crying.

(A few hours later in the hospital)

Will is sitting on a chair next to Mike. Mikes mom,Nancy and Joyce are there too. Mike is awake but his face looks so hurt. There are bruises all over his body and he is still bleeding from his face.
" why does everybody hate us so much" Mike says with a painful voice.
It feels like a punch in wills heart.
" do you want a minute with will alone honey?" Mikes mom says with a soft voice. Mike nods.
When everybody has left the room Mike just stares at will.
" i was so scared that they would hurt you. I'm so happy it was me they punched" Mike says.
" i'm sorry i couldnt stop them" will says with tears in his eyes.
Mike takes wills hand.
" i would take thousands of punches for you Byers" Mike says.
Will carfully kisses Mikes lips. It tastes like blood but will doesn't care. He just needs to feel Mikes lips on his own.

And oh god, the two boys loves eachother so much.
