After the attack against the rebel forces, Kylo Ren had stopped meddling in the affairs of others. He had been neglecting his duty as the new supreme leader and was constantly alone. For the past few days he had only been able to think of one thing...
Rey's p.o.v ---------------- I continued to stare into his dark eyes as he patiently waited for my answer. There was something hidden behind those eyes; something I don't think anyone had seen before. It intrigued me, and I felt something well up inside me; something I hadn't felt before. I was about to accept his proposal, when an odd sensation suddenly began running through my body; it began coarsing through my veins. I didn't know what it was, or why it was happening. It scared me.
"What is this feeling?" I looked down at my arms and back up at Ben, trying to see if he felt the same. He looked at his hands and clenched his fists. Then he began walking even closer to me. "Don't be afraid, I feel it too." It was almost a whisper, like he was afraid of saying it out loud. The way he said it sent chills up my spine and down my entire body, and I became even more terrified.
Ben's p.o.v ---------------- I'm so confused. What's happening? This strange energy is coarsing through my veins; it's powerful. "Rey, what do you feel?" I wanted to confirm my suspicions, regardless of whether or not I liked the answer I would get. "I feel energy. Strange, powerful energy." She continued to look at her hands, turning them over every few seconds; trying to process what she was experiencing.
I was terrified thinking about doing what I was about to do, but I had to know. I had to. There wasn't another option. "Rey....." I began walking even closer to her until we were an inch apart. I saw her breath catch in her throat, and I knew she was scared. But I was even more so. I held out my hand in front of me, my palm facing towards her. I wasn't ready to face the truth. There was no way. It's just not possible. "Put your hand against mine. I need to know if I'm right." I saw the hesitance in her eyes. "Please..." She looked shocked, maybe because of the situation, maybe because she didn't think that I had a heart. I could tell that she didn't want to do it........but she did it anyway. She looked into my eyes and I nodded my head, telling her to continue as her hand was halfway between us. We were both terrified. She didn't know what this might mean, but I knew. I knew all too well.
As soon as she pressed her hand against mine I knew that I had been right.
Rey's p.o.v ---------------- As soon as I pressed my hand against his my mind was flooded with scenes and images. I saw so many things, so many memories, but they weren't mine. I saw Anakin Skywalker and Padme Amidala at their wedding. I saw Luke and Leia as newborns, laying next to their mother. Then I saw Han Solo......and Ben. They were walking in the desert, towards the two setting suns. Wait. They were on Jakku. How? Why would they be there? The scenes playing out before me made no sense, and my mind couldn't understand why I was seeing them. Ben's father had stopped walking. He looked at Ben and told him something. I couldn't tell what it was.
Then suddenly, it felt like my mind was racing at 1,000 miles an hour, and I saw myself. I was standing here, on the island, but it wasn't the same. There were new buildings, and new life had seemed to flourish. It was different. I was standing where I normally did, on the hill looking at the sunset. I was standing there, right behind myself. It was like I was in a dream.
But I wasn't alone. I felt another presence to my right, and then I looked. It was Ben. He didnt look like he does now. He was wearing different clothes; completely different clothes. He was walking towards the other me. I assumed that he couldn't see me because when I spoke his name, he continued to look at the other me.
Then I saw myself turn towards him, and my pupils widened at what I saw. My breathing stopped, and for a moment, it felt like my heart had stopped too. I couldn't believe it. I was pregnant.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Ben walked towards the other me and got down on one knee. He placed his hands on my sides and placed a kiss on my stomach. I felt tears run down my face. I don't understand.
And then I saw something else; something terryfying......Ben stood up, put his hands around my head.......and placed a kiss on my lips. It only lasted a few seconds, but it felt like forever. I watched from behind as everything happened. Was this my future? How? Why? All of a sudden, my mind felt like it was rewinding itself. I yelled as I held out my hand, not wanting to leave, wanting to know if it was actually my future; if it was actually real.
And then I was back to the present. I had never felt so scared and uncomfortable as I did now, standing in front of Ben, waiting for one of us to say something to break the deadly silence holding itself between us.
