Never have I ever felt so horrible in my entire life. I need to control myself.

I want to cry. But I can't. I can't embarrass myself in front of Chaeyoung again. I refuse to.

I can't believe Chaeyoung and I have to work together now. I mean, I'm not going to quit. It's hard to find a job in such a big city like Seoul.

Time seems to pass by extra slow. I try to focus more on the customers and less on Chaeyoung. The tension in the air is so thick I feel as if I can't even breathe.

Eventually, a kid from one of my classes at the University enters the shop.

"Ay, Lisa! Didn't know you worked here," he calls out to me.

I recognize him as Kim Jun, that one kid in my English class who always screws around in the back of the room with his small group of friends.

"Hey, Jun," I say, trying to make my voice sound somewhat cheery but it comes out sounding extremely forced. "What would you like?"

"You," he answers rather loudly, capturing the attention of a few customers and Chaeyoung, who's busy wiping down the dirty tables.

I let out a laugh, "I'm not on the menu, sorry. We don't serve humans but we do happen to serve bubble tea. What flavor would you like?"

I take his order and make his drink. Instead of leaving straight afterward, he decides to stay and start up a conversation with me.

"So Lisa, there's gonna be a party at my place on Friday. You up for it?" Jun asks.

"Nah, I'm good."

"Lisa, you're no fun."

"I could say the same for your parties."

"You're also really rude."

"Then why are you still trying to get me to come to your party?"

Jun opens his mouth but eventually closes it once he realizes he has nothing better to say.

My eyes lazily wander around the room until I see that Chaeyoung is staring at me. She quickly looks away once she realizes that I've caught her staring.

Jun looks between the two of us before a small smirk appears on his face.

"Oh. My. God. Is this why you keep on rejecting me? Because you're a lesbian?" he asks me in a hushed voice.

I gape at his words. "What?"

"I saw that. You and that girl over there. There's something going on."

I slap his arm for getting into my business. "Jun, I'm not a lesbian. I've dated guys before."

"Sure," Jun replies in a teasing tone of voice before picking up his drink from the counter. "Well, bye, Lisa. I hope all goes well with you and your lady-lover."

"She is not my—"

"LALALALALALALA!" Jun obnoxiously yells out whilst covering his ears. Then, he walks out.

Everyone sends me a weird look and I wish for the ground to swallow me whole.
