Chaeyoung and I leave when two other employees come to take our place at around seven p.m.
I still can't get over what Jun said.
I know I shouldn't think too much on what he said because Jun is known for saying the stupidest and most random things.
His words just keep on repeating in my head.
I hope all goes well with you and your lady-lover.
I find myself slightly chuckling at that while walking back to campus.
I wonder how Chaeyoung would react if she had heard that.
"So how was your first day at work?" Jisoo asks when I return to the dorm. She notices my sad expression, "Was it bad?"
"Not the best," I admit.
"Tell me about it."
I throw my self onto her bed, the one she shares with Jennie.
"Park Chaeyoung was there."
"Oh? Was she a customer? Wait, did she order the Rose Bubble Tea?"
I roll my eyes at her attempt at a joke. "No, she wasn't a customer."
It takes Jisoo a few seconds to process my words. "So you two are now co-workers."
"Yup."
"Do you think she..." her voice trails off and I could see her contemplating on whether not she should say whatever she had on her mind or not. "Do you think she thought that you got the job just so that you could talk to her again?"
I didn't even think about that.
What if Chaeyoung does think I'm that desperate?
"I hope not."
"Was she nice to you?"
Not really.
That's the honest truth.
But Jisoo is like a mother. She's older than Jennie and I so she takes on the job of making sure that we're all staying safe and happy.
If I tell her how Chaeyoung treated me today, no doubt Jisoo would want to go to my job tomorrow to beat the crap out of her.
"She wasn't nice, but she wasn't too bad," I answer.
"Okay," Jisoo responds slowly.
"Jisoo, please don't get into this. I don't want anything bad to happen.
"I just don't understand why you don't hate her!" Jisoo suddenly raises her voice. "From what you tell me, Chaeyoung sounds like a horrible person. But you're still trying to defend her!"
"Chaeyoung is not a horrible person."
"See?! You're still defending her. She ditched you as a friend and didn't talk to you for six years! Just the thought of you having someone like that in your life makes me want to—"
The door to our dorm room opens and a tired-looking Jennie walks in.
She stands there, a little confused. "Am I interrupting something?"
"No," Jisoo answers curtly with an exaggerated huff. She pushes herself off the bed and walks into the bathroom, slamming the door shut afterward.
"That was dramatic," Jennie mutters as she makes her way towards me. "What's going on between you two?"
"I'll tell you later, Jennie."
Jennie was never one to pry into someone's business. Probably because she gave zero shits about everything. "Okay, tell me when you're ready then."
I walk over to my desk and start doing my homework as per usual. But I can't focus. Not when Chaeyoung's on my mind.
