Jigawa, Nigeria.
Amirah sighed with contentment as they descended the plane. "Nice to be in Nigeria again after so many years." She uttered as she scanned askantly around her. There's no place like home. Nigeria is her country, and the best country ever.
The airport was crowded with people, excepting passengers, people clustered around, some waiting for their families while others were on the line for the next flight.
They headed through the building gazing around for a familiar face when suddenly they spotted their uncle Hamza waving at them.
"Welcome Amirah, maryam." uncle hamza said to them as they got to the spot he was waiting for them.
They made their way out of the airport with uncle hamza's driver holding their baggage.
The drive to the house was to them refreshing. Amirah kept her thought profoundly back on England, as she felt she had left something important there. She will try and discard every thought and distress and have her holiday as if nothing had actually happened.
They got to the house shortly after, in takur aduwa. The house seems small, but intrinsically reputed with the air of liveliness. The surrounding of the house is vast with many trees, making the environment a billow of fresh air. The floor is interlaced with streak marble stones, neatly bedecked in triangular shapes.
"We're home now!" uncle hamza announced as he pulled out of the car and halted, gazing interestingly at both Amirah and maryam. "The house is not as big as you're used to, but I do hope you will manage."
"The house's amazing." Amirah smiled and afterward, they all walked to the porch of the house.
Uncle hamza is appa's younger brother. They are the only men in the family, then four female followed. Appa is the first born of their parent, who all hailed in dutse.
Once they got into the sitting room, a girl, little bit older than maryam came out running and threw herself on Amirah. Amirah held her tightly while grinning.
"Welcome Adda Amirah." she said as she steadied herself and looked onto Amirah's face.
"Are you sabiha?" Maryam asked, looking at the girl.
"Yes!" sabiha answered, smiling brightly at Marian.
"Sabiha take them to their room." uncle hamza ordered. "They are tired I guess, let them rest for a while before you start disturbing then I know you well."
"Oh! You've arrived already." uncle Hamza's wife came out of the kitchen smiling. "Alhamdulillah hope you had a nice trip?"
"Yes aunty. Alhamdullilah." Amirah grinned, so do maryam.
"Sabiha had been expecting you guys since morning." their aunt went on. "She was so restless before you came, any sound of car will make her rush out and come back disappointed."
Sabiha led them to the guess room opposite hers. The room is small but everything is in order, thanks to uncle hamza's wife.
A medium sized bed, standing mirror and a locker which held books and other stationeries.
Sabiha dragged their luggage to the wardrobe panting.
"Leave that I will do it." Amirah said and dragged the boxes away from sabiha. She placed the boxes on the right order and sat down close to maryam on the bed.
"Sabiha you're now a big girl." Amirah commented. "When we left you were just a baby."
Sabiha smiled and sat close to Amirah, taking Amirah's hand in hers.
