It had already been a hard day at school because of not sleeping, but even more hard because of Louis. He was so insensitive at the fact I wanted to tell people. Did he even care about me?
I push all those thoughts away and walk up to Louis' house to practice passes. I was going to knock, but I just let myself in instead. The living room was spotless; my clothes folded, that I had left the other day, we're lain on top of the couch.
"Lou?" I say concerned. Why would my clothes not just get mixed up with his clothes?
"I'll meet you out back." His emotionless voice responds from upstairs.
I was confused but walked to the back and started kicking the ball around. After two minutes passed I started to get angry. Why was he being so mean?
I slam my foot against the ball, causing a loud thwamp into the net.
Louis finally walks out in his normal sports attire. He looked as handsome as always, despite his shitty attitude.
"Let's get on with it, yeah?" He swipes the ball from me with ease.
"Can we talk?" I ask gently, scared he hates me now.
"If you can get the ball from me." He grumbles and runs around seamlessly with the ball.
I try very hard to get the ball with no results. Not even close.
"Louis why are you acting weird?"
"M'not. M'tryna show ya ta play!" His accent got thicker as if to show his annoyance.
He gently passes the ball to me and motions for me to pass it back. "Whatever."
We both work in silence, kept on passing it until my passes became as seamless as his.
"Good. Want coffee?" Louis asks.
"No. I'm going to go home to shower." I grumble and grab my stuff. If he's going to act mean, I can act mean back.
"You can use my shower but sure act that way." Louis laughs to himself. My blood boils, what is wrong with him?
"Do you hate me now?" I basically scream at him. It was hiding inside me for too long.
"What are you talking about?" Louis is still laughing. This time tears prick my eyes, but I refuse to let him see that.
"Whatever. Thank you for the lessons, I'll let you know if I get on the team."
"You will but you're welcome. Want a ride home?" Louis walks closer to me but still far enough away to be weird. Just yesterday we couldn't get close enough.
"No thank you." I take that as my cue to leave, purposely leaving my clothes on his couch. Maybe when he's done being a jerk he'll return them to me. And then we'll kiss and forget this all happened. Maybe.
