After going through and agreeing on the plan, we finally headed out of the clustered room. Everyone walked in twos, but me. Ezra was in the back with India, me in the middle, with Carson and Miles in the front since Carson knew the hospital best. I felt like a part of something great
And I was.
We remained in the white hallway for what seemed liked hours, the occasional turn here and there, Miles constantly glancing back towards me before looking back ahead. We quickly came to a halt behind a corner.
Carson brought his finger to his lips, motioning for us to be quiet. I heard voices mumbling in conversation. A dark chuckle from the hushed voices made my spine tingle. A static voice had came over what I thought sounded like a Walkie-Talkie.
_Guys, come on down to 207, you're going to want to see this, over._ The voice said, going in and out on the microphone.
One of the men spoke back, questioning, "What is it, Lane?" He asked, an annoyed tone in his voice.
The man on the other side of the Walkie-Talkie who was supposedly Lane spoke back, _Get your asses over here. Zeus is dead, and it looks like the guy got his little girlfriend. We have a major problem on our hands!_"
Without a word, we heard padded footsteps echo down the hallway. We waited forever before we finally showed ourselves around the corner.
"I suppose those were the guards for the weaponry room." Ezra said knowingly, pointing towards a room ahead of us. I looked around the hallway and was the first person to dash across the empty hallway.
"Dorie!" Everyone gasped.
"What? It's safe." I said, putting my hand on the door handle and pushing open the door without a struggle.
After they stopped their bickering with me, they all made the decision to join me in the room.
"Be sure to pack smart and small, everyone. We have an _idea_ what we'll be up against, but you never know." Carson said.
I stood a post by the door as everyone began to get whatever they could get their hands on as quickly as possible. With my arms crossed, and glancing around, my attention averted to a blinking light on the ceiling. The light was red and bright inside the dark, secluded area we were in. It rotated and turned right in my direction.
A camera.
"T-The camera." I blurted.
"What?" Miles exclaimed first.
"The freaking camera!" I pointed to the ceiling, the camera's lenses still focused on us.
Seemingly unmoved by my statement, Carson finished his packing and came near me.
"They know we're here." He said bluntly.
"What do we do now?" I asked.
"It won't take too long for them to get this entire place on lockdown and come after us. We go. We fight now."
