After I finished my jog I went straight home and took a shower I made sure to lock the door because over time Iris decided to join me probably one of the most oddest moments, it was the least sexual experience with two people in a shower. After that I put my clothes on and walked into the bedroom. Iris was laying down flipping through channels while the twins were running thought the hallways. I laid next to Iris and checked my phone. After an hour I turned off the TV she turned to me "So Iris you know how you said we should get out more, well there's a party going on back home and I think we should go."
“Cyrus I miss Utah as much as you but I don’t know it’s a long drive and we both would have to take vacation days “ She said as she was talking I made my puppy dog face
“That won’t work” She said with a stern face. After 10 second she finally gave up.
“Fine” She said. I jumped on the bed screaming yes.
“I’ll go tell the kids” she said.
“And i’ll start packing” I said. I grabbed my phone and called Buffy
“Guess what I can go” I said with a little too much screech in my voice
“ Oh my God Cyrus that is great” She said
“Alright i’ll call you later I need to pack” I said
“Bye Cyrus” she said
I hung up the phone, Buffy has been there for me even after I left town she was there for my kids birth, the wedding, and visited last year we were still close friends.After an hour of me packing Iris called both of our bosses to tell them we would be gone for a week. It was Summer so the kids didn’t have school and they seemed happy to finally leave the house. I asked the neighbors to get our mail too and I put the suitcases and bags in the car. I couldn’t believe it I was going back.
In the morning
It was 5:00 everyone was still groggy and tired especially Barry who fell asleep at the Kitchen table. Iris made sure we had enough sandwiches and snack to last the whole ride, and packed it into a cooler. I walked upstairs into the restroom and started brushing my teeth. Iris walked in to comb her hair.
“You think you should shave” She said
“No I have a baby face under this” I said
“I’m just saying you look like a lumberjack” She said
“Fine, i’ll shave” I said while grabbing the razor.
“ Thank you, babe” She said
After shaving I went downstairs and saw everyone ready to leave. I grabbed my keys. My kid made multiple jokes about my now bald face and even Iris said a joke. Iris got on the passenger side signaling that I was driving.I strapped Barry and Diamond in and gave them there tablets. I put the locations and The GPS it was a 10hr drive from San Diego to Salt Lake City. I asked everyone if they had everything and then backed away and started driving
5 hours later
We finally left Las vegas after having the worst traffic ever. We had gotten a Car video players to brainwash the children into being quiet, cause we forgotten the charger for the tablets, but that didn’t help because of the constant fighting between them.
“So Cyrus you never told me what this party is about” She said
“Well Andi had finished her painting and their celebrating” I said
“Oh that's great I haven’t seen her in awhile “ She said
“ Yeah she isn’t really social after starting her art career” I said
“ So are going to get a hotel or what” She said
“ No Buffy is going to let us stay over” I said
“Alright i’m going to take a little nap” She said
When she went to sleep I turned on the radio to drown out the noise of Spongebob's laugh.
Several Hours later
As we arrived I was starstruck as we drove past all the places. I looked at Iris she had the same face I had. The Park, the Fringe, the Spoon. As I drove up to the address Buffy gave me it was a beautiful house. Two stories with a maroon paint covering the outside. I parked the car and looked around. I helped get all the luggage out and knocked on the door
