I turned my phone off and thought to myself about what Cyrus and I were going to talk about tomorrow. Like we haven’t had a real conversation in 10 years and I didn’t want to make it awkward. We’ll probably just catch up. After daydreaming I decided to watch some cartoons while waiting for Max to text me to pick him up. (time skip)
Max sent me a text to pick him up I grabbed the keys and jumped in the car. It wasn’t a long drive, but the traffic always got on my nerves. After flipping off a hipster who honked at my car I got to my work Max was talking to Cheryl a manager from another station, she looked like she was being a little too touchy with Max. I honked the horn to make sure that she noticed me. They both looked at me and Max said bye and Cheryl gave him a hug I wanted to get out the car, but I didn’t want to cause a scene cause our boss was close. After Max got in, I was still looking at Cheryl.
“Hey babe you see something you like,” Max said.
“Nah,” I said as I back the car full speed and drove unto the highway. Max quickly put his seatbelt on.
“Were you jealous of Cheryl when she was talking to me,?” Max said.
“No, you can talk with anyone you want,” I said.
“Don’t worry I’m not that type of guy?” Max said putting his hand on my thigh
“I’m sorry just that my ex...” I said.
“I know, and I don’t want to be like that trust me,” Max said.
“I do trust you,” I said taking his hand off my thigh and into my hand.
We kept our hands together for the whole ride, to be honest, it calmed me down.
“So how was overtime,” I said.
“Pretty boring had throwaway the defect products how was your 3 hours at home,” Max said.
“It was good I spent it watching Cartoons,” I said.
“You're so childish,” Max said.
“Says the guy who wears superman underwear,” I said.
“Whatever” Max said.
When we got into the apartment and we both fell unto the couch.
“I don't feel like cooking,” Max said.
“We’ll just order,” I said.
“Pizza or Chinese,” Max asked.
“What do you think,” I said.
“Pizza it is,” Max said.
Max called the pizza place and ordered a large pizza half pepperoni and a half pineapples and barbecue. It took the drone about 5 minutes to get here, but it was still hot.
We both sat down and dug in.
“Have you seen anything new on TV?” Max said.
“They made a new Sharknado,” I said.
“Are you for real this is like the 9th one,?” Max said.
“I watched part of it. It's cheesy,” I said.
“Oh and I almost forgot, Cyrus and me were planning on going to the park tomorrow,” I said before Max cut me off
“You don't need to ask for my permission I'm happy you're finally getting out the house for the first time this year,” Max said.
“Shut up,” I said playfully.
“Just call me, so I can pick you up,” Max said.
By the time we finished our conversation, I had finished my half of the pizza.
“You must have been hungry,” Max said.
“Yeah, that chicken didn't last long either,” I said.
“You can have some of mine,” Max said.
I looked at his half and saw the pineapples covered with barbecue sauce.
“You know what I think I’m full,” I said.
“Alright your loss,” He said as he took a big bite into a piece, I shuddered a little.
“I’m going to go take a shower,” I said.
“Ok, I’ll put this up for later” Max said.
When I got to the bathroom and took off my shirts and like everyday I looked at the scars on my arms and around my body some did by me and some did by some of my exes. Whenever I see them, it reminds of my past and makes me appreciate what I have in Max. I started the water and made sure it was cold and jumped in as the water hit my face and just talked to myself. When I hopped out the shower Max was waiting and went in himself. I laid down on the bed and I was half asleep when Max jumped in the bed. He put his arm around me and gave me a little peck on the neck.
“Good night Jonah,” Max said.
“Good night,” I said.
