Sparks crackled, illuminating the surrounding darkness. The man adjusted his wiring, opening the thin band of metal that was attached to his wrist, hands moving rapidly, he knew it would not do to malfunction now. The metal was so discreet that the chances of it being noticed, unless you knew it was there, were next to none. He was waiting for Lila, a grim smile placed upon his lips. You could say this mans soul was frozen with hatred, but that would be to presume that a man so consumed by evil once had a soul. No, more like this mans entire being was gone, replaced by a mere echo of the man he once was.

There was a dastardly stench of despicable upon the air that night.

He began to pace, each step another drop of patience down the drain. One less minute until he would be submerged in restlessness entirely. He started to twitch, as he always did when impatience was approaching.

Where were they? Panic threatened to take over. As far as they were aware he had followed the plan perfectly, unless... No, they had no reason to double cross him. But what if they knew about HIS plan. In which case the only sensible thing to do would be to RUN.

It was too late, heard a horrible screech that could only belong to a car. It was the type of screech that made the hairs on the back of his neck prickle uncomfortably. It was the screech of a car pulling up right next to where he stood.

He very much doubted he would make it back alive.
