Her face hardened, she had to know. Loyal citizen or traitor? Harper played out what she would do if traitor she was deemed. Her breaths started to speed up, what if she was thought to be part of Them? Although she knew she was not, if the government thought so, they would not be persuaded otherwise. And Harper knew, although uncommon yet not impossible, was the possibility that instead of being one of Them (a full robot) that someone could be part-robot. In the most common cases of people discovering this about themselves, they hadn't found out until it was too late and the government had come for them. In which case, then she wouldn't know, or at least, not until it was too late.
She had made up her mind.
Harper waited until the corridor was completely deserted, hiding in one of the rooms , until even the Government employees had left, before exiting the room she was in and walking further down the corridor, perhaps the results would be filed away somewhere. She did not doubt the results would be there, she had previous experience of the governments efficacy, and knew that for something as important as this, the government would want the results back as soon as possible.
Harper continued down the seemingly endless corridor until;
Tap.
She spun round, heart pounding rapidly. Her eyes darted around the enclosed space, looking for a trace of her pursuer. The corridor looked as empty as ever, and even though the steps were no longer audible, Harper was adamant she was being watched, yet she continued. Careful to stay close to the wall so that the labels on the doors were readable.
Tap.
Although Harper knew she could easily take on whoever was following her, she knew the risk was too great. She began to pace, nearing a run, for she had a feeling that the results were approaching.
Tap.
Harper turned around to be greeted by a government offical. Except, they looked differant, not like the others. Then it struck her, they were wearing the governments training uniform/fighting uniform, which was only ever worn when the employee in question was, as the name suggested prepareing for a fight.
Only a single thought ran through her mind; Oh, no.
