Sorry for taking so long to update, I literally re-wrote this like two times but after watching the movie that marvel that posted on Instagram I decided to take a different turn on it. Quill had realized that with everything going on with the Infinity war, he shouldn't be lecturing his daughter on boys. But that didn't stop him from shooting Peter glares. Despite their kiss on the rooftop that one night nothing was official. Peter and y/n still remained as friends, nothing more. That was because they agreed that it'd be better to leave that to the side until the world's existence wasn't at risk.     

Thanos was still in new york, more specifically he was in Queens. He was in the exact location as the circular hovercraft. The team wasn't there when Thanos was spotted, but Peter was. You see what separated Peter from the rest of the team was that he wasn't afraid of Thanos. He didn't understand what he was capable of. Everyone thought Peter just wanted to stop Thanos and be the hero he was, but it was much more than that. Peter wanted to protect y/n because he was in love with her. And love makes you do crazy things.

Y/n was walking down the street when she received a call. "Y/N!" Peter's voice came booming through her phone when she answered it.

"r.i.p. my ears." she responded, lowering the volume on her earbuds. "And my stomach, I'm starving." 

"y/n I'm being serious."

"I'm being serious too, I haven't eaten all day." y/n told him before crossing the busy street to the other side of the side walk. "Why does New York have so much traffic?" 

"I found Thanos!" He told her breathing heavily, it seemed like he was running. 

"What?" y/n asked, freezing in her steps.

"I found Thanos and I'm going after him!" Peter repeated to her.     

"Ok, where are you right now?" y/n asked him trying not to panic. "I'll get the team and we'll go there."

"There isn't enough time." Peter told her, y/n could tell he was shaking his head. "He's where we first found him, and his ship is leaving. I have to follow him."

"Follow him where?" Y/n asked him with a commanding tone, "You realize that he's probably leaving earth, right?" 

"I'm just telling you now in case I don't see you again."

"What you have to do is the smart thing. I'm sending Tony your location." y/n argued.

"I'm sorry." Peter said in a sudden soft voice.

"Peter don't do something you'll regret." y/n told him, she was now running to the location where Peter said he was."I'm coming just wait, you can't fight him alone it's too dangerous. Wait for me!"

"I said there's no time, he's leaving now!" Peter argued again he was being so stubborn. "I don''t want you getting hurt."

"Peter Benjamin Parker! Do not for one second thi-"

"I have to do try." Peter interrupted, "I'm hanging up now."  

"Parker, What part of don-"

"Take care of May for me." He said in a quiet voice.

"You could die!" 

"I know." Peter told her, "But if that means that I can separate him from the stones then it's worth it. I have to protect everyone, I have to protect you."

"Peter please, don't." Y/n cried out. She wiped away a tear with her sleeve as she turned a corner, "please I can't lose you too. I need you." She thought she heard a sniffle from the other side of the receiver then all she heard was silence.  

He had hung up. Y/n ran even faster, her thighs were screaming and her throat was burning with every inhale of oxygen the took. But she was too late. When she got to the buildings where the circular hovercraft once was it was gone. As so was Peter.
