Jungkook POV
(Y/N) was concerning me. She kept going out late at night and disappearing with people that weren't Jimin. She didn't tell me their names, either. She didn't even come home last night. I looked at her text again for the 4th-40th time today.
Text chat:
Nugget: Jungkook, I'm staying out for the night. Don't worry, I'm still pure, and nothing is wrong. He just wanted to hang out. Have a good night, lovely brother. (Read-11:12pm)
I closed the phone and set it on the counter. I rubbed my forehead and tried to breathe slowly. My bag was sitting on the table in front of me, filled to the brim with contract revisions I would have to look at. It was awfully stressful to the point that I considered just retiring and living here. (Y/N) might not appreciate it initially, but she would be fine with it in the end. With all this stress in my life, I was going to have grey hair by the time I hit thirty.
I stood up and looked around (Y/N)'s house for something to drink. It was 1:00am and I was still up. Yes, it was bad for me to be looking for a drink, but I needed something. Yes, I have school tomorrow, but I don't care. If I want to get drunk, I'm getting drunk. If I want to be tipsy, I'm gonna get tipsy. If I want to be a raging and hungover mess tomorrow, I'm going to be a raging and hungover mess tomorrow.
I found no alcohol, so I left her apartment. I walked to the nearest gas station and went in. I looked at the coolers and the various drinks. My hands were tucked in my pockets and my hood was over my head. I had a cotton mask covering my face as to keep my identity hidden. I won't even think of how many mishaps I'd almost had while touring. It seriously disturbed me that some people thought it was okay to chase me, grab me, or try to drag me somewhere. It was downright terrifying what some people did.
I grabbed a 12-pack of beer and held it by my side. I paused for a moment while looking at the rest of them. I decided against getting more and went to the counter. I also bought some mint gum. I hadn't been able to chew gum in so long and I was really craving it.
The girl told me the price while I fished my wallet out of my pocket.
"You know," she commented, "you look really familiar. Are you famous or something?"
"Oh, no. I'm just a alcoholic getting beer at 1:00am." I gave her my credit card.
She took it and didn't swipe it. "You're Jungkook, right?"
Was she one of those die hard fans that could recognize someone by their voice? She couldn't even see my face clearly and she figured out who I am.
"Of course not."
She smiled and pulled my credit card back. "You are! Can I have a picture?"
"It's kind of late, can I just pay and go home?"
I may come off as rude, but at that moment, I wasn't sure how much I cared. I was tired, I was worried, and I just wanted to buy alcohol peacefully. Was that too much to ask?
"Just one picture?" she begged, her eyelashes fluttering. She was still holding my credit card. I contemplated just grabbing it and walking out, just going to sleep instead of doing this. I hadn't had alcohol in years, I realized. I made up my mind that I was getting a drink, even if it was only a small one.
I sighed and pulled down the mask. "Sure."
She leaned in close to me and took the picture. I had to resist backing away from how strong her perfume was. I could see how much makeup she had on when her face was near mine. I made a peace sign and faked a smile out of courtesy.
