Your POV

My head rested on Suga's shoulder as we rode in the back of the bus. I was sleepy and almost falling asleep, the bag constantly slipping from my fingers. When he didn't reek of cigarettes, which hadn't happened in a long time, he actually didn't smell like anything if I was near him. I didn't know what he smelled like. He had an arm holding me to him, keeping my body still while my eyelids kept dropping. He placed the bag between his knees as I was about to drop it, not saying a single word.

It felt as if my eyes had just closed when he was shaking me awake.

"(Y/N), we're back. Taehyung texted me and told me Jimin's on his way with Jungkook."

I nod, struggling to stand because all I want to do is fall back asleep. He supports me by holding under my arm. I hold onto a seat as he grabs the bag. Then he slips his fingers into mine and helps me maneuver the easy path of the bus as I yawn. He keeps me steady as we walk down the stairs. He hands me the bag once I'm down, his fingers making sure it's secure before releasing it. The cool evening air greets me as we step out, the sky already fading to black. Apparently, the bus ride to the mall is short, but the bus ride back is a very long route that I pitied myself for having to take such a long way.

We walk side by side on the way back to his apartment, an air of ease the only sound. The wind is quiet and slight, moving our hair in the same direction only a little. Again, I catch a glimpse of his black roots.

"Why did you dye your hair?" I ask suddenly, pushing my natural (H/C) hair behind my ear.

He pauses for a moment and I see his guard. "I... I needed to."

I keep my voice delicate, trying to make him share. "How come?"

His guard fades when he looks at my eyes. "My family all have natural black hair. Like, the blackest hair you'll ever see. I wanted to disengage from them, and a physical change was my first rebellion."

"I get it," I reply, swinging my legs dramatically as I walked. "Wanting to separate yourself from a part of your life that you would be better without, I mean. When I was in high school, I beat kids up so they would stop bothering me."

"No wonder you nearly flipped me off my bike when I first met you outside of school," he says, snapping his fingers. "But, yeah. I can't say I hate being blonde, but I do miss being able to wear black clothes without finding platinum blonde strands on it. I'm trying to grow it out, but it's taking forever."

"Why the sudden mood change?"

"A biker with black hair is that much more intimidating, and I figured nothing could piss my family off more than seeing someone with the traditional black doing something they don't want."

I laughed. "You really enjoy pissing off people you don't like."

He laughs with a gummy smile. "You know me well."
