"What?!" Clair tossed her hands in the air, staring directly at her uncle in desperation. "We are too far away! The only school that's even near us is 50 miles away!" He smirked at her wickedly, then said, "They are having difficulty with the school up north since there are too many kids going there. Because of that, they are building a school a couple miles away from this beach!" He smirked again at her once more, waiting for a reply. "Well... school is for losers!" She pouted at just the thought of having to leave her beloved beach, while only getting sly looks from snotty classmates if she left instead. "Well, I guess that means that you'll be a loser for a semester." He said sharply, now becoming more cold with his words. "A semester? What do you mean?" She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, even more impatient than before. "This is a punishment, remember? You only have to go to school for one semester. But who knows? You might want to stay longer!" Finally they made exact eye contact, and Clair knew that there was no escaping this scenario. "Fine," she said, "I guess I'll have to do it."
